BIG maps, removal of some spawn and tranportation.

Post by macho_borrito »

*note: i searched but couldn't find this suggestion. If its suggested before, i'm sorry.

Okay for the big maps it's sometimes a bummer that all the verhicles are gone and the only thing you can do is walk until you got blisters.

The verhicles are taken by asses who drive of alone, drive right into enemy fire. Sometimes there are simply just 2 (vodniks, hummers etc.) for 64 players.

IRL infantry squads gets verhicles issued. So a squad can get a verhicle when they need it.

My suggestion is: make it so (when a squad got atleast 4 members or so in it.) the squadleader can request a light transport verhicle (hummer, vodnik) at the main base. Just like the commander gets his truck (also a timer on it so we cant get to mutch).

Remove some of the light verhicles on the map so you don't get to mutch and voila..... squads can move faster and better on the bigger maps.
(this also helps for the removal of APC spawn and/or possible squadleader spawn removal.)

Also squadleader can isseu a driver and a gunner and 50. cal gunner and that way you got better communication (between driver, gunner and squadleader who gives instructions and directions.

I hope you like it cause, i'm feeling pretty god damn smart for having thought of this idea ;-)

I would love to here the kinks in this plan (in other words feedback).

yours sincerely,

Yeah I like it
Kinda sucks when you spawn and the only vehicles left are a blackhawk and like fifty tanks.

Give squads more mobility
ftw!

Squad only vehicles, like RP's with you must have 3 other squad members within 5M of you. Would be pretty cool :P

Gimme !
That is the best idea I've heard for the transport problem.
It follows all the exisiting rules but denies the lonewold moron his chance to ride solo in that good night !
And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend.
Finally I understand the feelings of the few.

Well, you can still have SL "oh I forgot my Officer, brb" then one of the squaddies is a shittard and drives off alone.

To some extent, I would prefer if the squadleader was given a largely if not totally unarmed Stryker/BTR70/FV432 rather than have rally points. Officer kit to drive, respawn point for the squad, rally and rearm location as well as field hospital. It would be more reflective of the modern 21st century vehicle centric infantry.

I can see that being a ridiculous pain. We don't want to many rules.

Already suggested. Bad idea IMO -- we already have battlefields littered with light vehicles. People should just call in vehicle drops more often.

Suggested before, in various flavours (including this one), on several occasions. Please use the search function.

However, personally I am in favour of this.

Whell it would be the same as setting up a rally point.... so you wouldnt have to learn more rules. It are the same rules applied to something else wich wouldn't be to hard.

verhicle drops takes a long time to reload and a long time for the verhicle to touch the ground. Or there isnt an commander (over 50% of the time).
And also as far as i know it's realistic to have infantry squads who can have a transport and more mobility.

A sollution to youre problems to this suggestion could be:

Make time when you can "spawn" a verhicle pretty long. This way you're squads verhicle should be something that should be protected (just like IRL) and not something you take and abandon.

Also remove every other light verhicle on the map. I don't think that is is littered when every squad has a car it's just realistic. Cause i don't think its realistic for 1 crackhead to drive of alone in a verhicle as soon as it spawns. And main base says to a squad: hey, you can go by foot on patrol trough a wide open and dangerous area with no cover. I'm not (yet) in the army but verhicle for squad's i think is realistic.

I think infantry should get a little more love now we get the enormous maps and fortress like tanks.

And if it's allready suggested i this same way than: i apologize.

Yours sincerely,
Macho borrito
p.s. : i used search function but i couldn't find the thread. Im not really good in using search though. So again: sorry

Good suggestion.

Vehicle drop is just not enough.

I takes quite long to reload, it's dropping for quite long time aswell and you can have more squads requesting vehicle drop at same time (Kashan).

Some rules to deploy: less than 100m from friendly CP/Firebase, 3 SM's nearby, officer kit (?), no vehicle deployed in X minutes.

Also would be nice, if not hardcoded, to somewhat lock the vehicle so only squad that spawned the car can use it (xxxx, you can't use this vehicle unless you're in a squad 3") - to prevent situations like this:
SL spawns a car, but before he and his squad manages to get in, some lone-wolf spec-ops freak beats them to it, steal the car and go on his short route towards that MBT, that he wants to blow up with his SLAM's.

Macho_Burrito, don't take it personally, it's not meant that way. I suppose some of us have seen the same suggestions crop up a few times and are getting cranky in our old age. ;)

Maybe rig in something like the kit system so if you've already spwned the car, you can't spawn another one while it's alive?

I know I have brought this idea up once and commented on some variance of it as well a few times in similar threads. So it has been discussed already but I don't know if the Devs every chimed in on those threads.

I like this idea, and its much needed feature on bigger maps.

Only adition to this is that such vheicle (hummer preferably) can be requested only at main base and within every 5 minutes...
Who want to get things done will find a way and who dosen't will find an excuse.
