if we get mortars how will they be deployed?

The commander part is just deploying them. You can fire wherever you like, but a good team would have some kind of communication with the commander to request barrages in specific places. That is up to the players...

Thanks for the clarrification. I will reiterate my point that it is odd that expensive equipment like aircraft and armour can be grabbed up and used without any commander interaction vs. a mortar needing a commander to deploy.

Would mortars not be in use by USMC ground forces on a semi-regular basis? Could this not a limited kit and hence a squad could work on puting it down and using it?

It just seems that adding yet another task to the commander is not neccesary especially since this could be a usefull limited kit if allowed to be deployed by a good squad. I would assume if it is a commander asset that the insurgents will be getting a commander then to place mortars?

I dont need mortars. I get a grenadier kit, Aim up into the sky, And fire! Whats really funny is on Basrah thats the best way to get ******* insurgents on the other side of a wall.
