Removing Gulf Of Oman & British Comms
I don't know if this is always the case but I played on Gulf and I noticed a complete lack of team work and a very boring round. I don't know if it was the players on the server or just one of thoose rounds or even the map but I thought it could be the map especially as it wasn't really designed for PR play.
I've also noticed over time that the british comms from the commo rose and from the actions (such as giving ammo) seem a bit odd. I'm british myself and I just thought they sound really cheesy or something, it's hard to explain I justwanted to know if anyone else ever feels the same way about these two points.

That I do, about the Brits anyway. You need some kinda emotion to them, and not well.... hmm, "I'm shouting to you while trying to drop a log". I think GoO is worthy of PR.....Its just overloaded.
Perhaps the heavyest but of gear either side should get is an APC or two each. Attack choppers are to close the the battle to be realistic and its hel lfor them and those on the ground.
I think the map would have a real sense of PRness if it had a newer element to it. Like a FULL sea-born/Amphibious landing. Pure RIBs and APCs. The Transport choppers would spawn 10mins in perhaps? The lightest from of attack chopper would be appreciated to accompany the transports. Cobra MAYBE? a Lighter AH6 would play better i think, but i dont think the USMC use that IRL.
Also, i think all mapper placed AAA should go(cept main base). If the MEC rly find transport choppers are a pest, they can place commander assets.
Armour for the MEC is just too ruthless, if untilised correctly. Its all chopper and boat sniping, leaving not much choice by prayer for the USMC. Two APCs, or that crappy ruski tank from SF would make the map more tactically intricate, yet less overbearing.
As for the voices, it NEEDzez to be regional. Northerners, Scotts, Irish, East londoners, Posh Git, Welshman. Atm, they sound like they are attempting to sound from ALL at the same time...Twisted.

With 64 players, this map becomes unbearable. 6 flags all within running distance means the entire MEC team repels attacks from the Americans. Once the first American wave is destroyed (and it usually is, easily), the US stands on the carrier waiting for spawns. MEC stands on the beach waiting for the US.
This map needs to be 2-3 times larger with a much longer beach and far more cover for infantry once they land. Make the entire coastal area a series of hotels, shops, and resort. Beyond the shops and hotels, place thick jungle/forest as you would see on an island, then push the MEC base to the far northwest.
Hmm.. kinda redoing the entire map but maybe that's what it needs.

I second the "Make it bigger" bit. Use that area all around the map! Maybe move the MEC air field WAY back.

Gulf of Oman
- removed MEC Attack Helicopters
- removed USS Essex Cannons (not necesary now)
- Changed MEC armor column now consisting of: 1 Tank, 2 vodnik, 2 APC, 1 AAV (spawn delayed 1200, wave spawning 2 max)
- Added 4 non-expiring rallypoints (spawn delayed 1200) at the MEC convoy in preparation for v0.7 APC spawnpoint removal.
- 2 USMC APC set to 9999 respawn
- tickets: 450 MEC and 500 USMC
- 2 USMC Cobra set to 900 respawn
- added a dome of death for MEC in the ocean, there is no longer possibility of MEC spawn raping the carrier.
- Removed 1 central beach MG, unable to exit it.
I of course agree the map is too small, but we cannot re-do the lightmaps on the map, this means no new buildings or trees or undergrowth.
Youll see in the patch a reduction of heavy assets and more focus on infantry. putting the blackhawks on delayed spawn at start is also a good point, as the blackhawk pilots currently almost NEVER make it anywhere, mostly because they are noobs who dont understand a concept of 'Combined Arms assault' and think they can just land their blackhawk on the beach and everything will be just peachy hehe
When re-working this map from vanilla I always thought that USMC will have a tough time. A beach assault in modern times is not really realistic, but neither is the vbf2 setup.
Either way I think the map can still be alot of fun, but USMC must have their shit together during this map, otherwise they can almost guarantee a failure. If USMC does not have a commander, they dont have a chance in hell at making any kind of succesful landing. Thats how it was designed anyways... The same can be said for USMC on Jabal and Hills of Hamgyong. These assault type maps really showcase PR when you have excellent teamplay and really show you the pitfalls of PR when you have smacktard commanders swimming across the ocean.
