Sniper Scope

Post by MrDow123 »

Sorry if this has been discussed already, but when you look through a sniper scope, would it be possible to get it to look like this?

Just a friendly suggestion

I thought when you used a scope you closed the other eye. As well as distracting you I'd of thought it would mess up your eyesight.

Yes but Im 100% sure you dont put your eye right up to the lens because the recoil would give you a black eye.

even if they could do that why would they? when you fire through a scope like that you dont have both of your eyes open and you arent that far away from the scope.

you can if you want to. Doesn't mess up your sight at all. At least not with short ranges, I haven't shot anything further than 100m away so can't say anything about medium/long distances. Also don't know about scopes with high zoom levels, I've only shot with 3x and smaller zooms.

Though I still keep the other eye closed (and I'm guessing most people do) because it's just so much easier that way, you have less things to worry about since the only thing you see is the crosshair and the target. But shooting with both eyes open is definitely possible.

Yeah, I do that sometimes on my MP5, because it annoys my left eye sometimes because I have to like, keep it closed hard.

Nope. I alway fire a "Scoped" weapon with BOTH eyes open. I am right eye dominant so having both eyes open doesn't negatively effect me. Lots of guys did it in my unit. Sniper school even teaches it to students. Keeping one eye closed for a while, would just add to eye strain, and that would wear you down over time. If you are left eye dominant, while trying to sight out of your right eye you would have a real problem if you couldn't control it. It's a bit more relaxing to fire with both eyes open. However if you always shot with one eye closed, it would be difficult to re-learn to fire with both eyes open. It can be done though.
