Add new types of vehicles and guns to the game
Could you guys add more different types of guns and vehicles to the game. Like a Aug, desert eagle, hand guns that do three round bursts. It would also be nice if a special class could use a silenced weapon. For vehicles add new types of jets like the fortress that was in desert combat. This would be great addition.

currently this mod focus on US, UK , militia , MEC and insurgents , non of the factions would field a AUG so that wont be added , also a desert eagle isnt standard issue among troops of any nations. and fortress ? never heard of it u don't mean the B-17 do u ?? :S, but it dose not sound like a common modern aircraft

New vehicles and weapons will require modeling, skinning, sound engineering, animating, and coding.bugsyrw wrote:Add new types of vehicles and guns to the game

Modeling itself isn't a everyday task anyone can do, recently I've found some spare time to do a few models of interest, but what your asking for will require more than just a simple model to be made.

Although I in no way speak for them, I get the feeling that the Devs love getting useful, well thought out feedback on their game. That being said, I want to politely point out that the mod is built with the intention of being as realistic as the BF2 engine allows. Making general suggestions to add 'X' or change 'Y' is not going to be met with compassion by members of this forum - they have likely read and reread dozens of posts just like it.
Two things make for a much better suggestion: A) Using the search to make sure no one has mentioned it before, and B) doing some real research on the topic.
Once you have determined that no one has brought up your idea before, then use the intarwebs to find photographic and or factual proof that, in real life, the soldiers/armies/battlefields depicted in this game would use/have access to/include your suggestion. Regardless of if you and everyone you know thinks you just had the best idea EVER, you'll be taken a lot more seriously here if you stop, think it through, and then back it up with evidence and proof that you actually took the time to look into it.

The IMI Desert Eagle is a gas-operated, semi-automatic, magnum-caliber handgun. It does not have 3 round burst capabilities, it is NOT a hand gun particularly seen, or found in the hands of an Arab Insurgent:bugsyrw wrote:I guess it is impossible for Insurgence to have desert eagles? I think having guns that can burst 3 rounds at a time is reasonable?
1. The magnum rounds are not cheap or easy to gets hands on in an occupied country
2. It is an Israeli made weapon; unless you've lived in a cave all your life, then I don’t think I’ll need to remind you that Israelis and Arabs are not the best of friends.

Please do not get stuck on the desert egle it was an example. I know they are not used that often. I was thinking more of Glock handguns with 3 round bursts and troops that are able to deploy mortars and other types of weapons that would add spice to the gameplay yet stay within the scope of the general design of the game. You are all very smart. I am very humbly trying to generate a stream of consciousness to inspire new ideas and while doing this not tear other people down.

The mod is called Project REALITY for a reason.
Pardon my rudeness but, if it is called Project Reality for a reason, and set in the near future, like 2010-2012, then why can't this mod be a little bit more realistic near-future wise and replace the M16 with either the XM8, the HK416, or the SCAR? It doesn't make any sense to me to continue the use of the M16 when it is going to be phased out soon in real life.
My one objection to this mod, only minor, but still a factor.

Mortars have been looked at and we might see them in the near future.
Jesus all mighty Christ, what the heck is wrong with people on the forums today? Some of you talk with such confidence in what you’re saying. The XM8 doesn't have an X in the beginning for nothing. The X means it is or was in testing phase. The XM8 didn't meet the U.S. Militaries standards and was cancelled. The U.S. Military just ordered a few thousand M4 Carbines from Colt Company a few months ago and it's quickly replacing all M16's with M4 Carbines (other than the M16A4 used by the USMC and some Army troops).Crusader09 wrote:Pardon my rudeness but, if it is called Project Reality for a reason, and set in the near future, like 2010-2012, then why can't this mod be a little bit more realistic near-future wise and replace the M16 with either the XM8, the HK416, or the SCAR? Army is getting the M4 in .7. I'd kinda like to see the M16 gone by the wayside as well. Near future yes...we are on the frontlines as soldiers and not the national gaurd, so it MIGHT seem prudent that some better weapons would be available. I think I'd like to see the SL'der get a cooler gun at least
It works for the militia and isn't spammed...it wouldn't have to be an uber sniper rifle either. I don't know about all this though...the military moves so slowly, who knows if the military will still have the M16 in 5-10 years. There is a big budget though

It’s called the AC-130, it is used by the United States Air Force; do we have the U.S. Air Force in PR?bugsyrw wrote:Oh ya the plane i was thinking of was the C130 gunship that would be fun to fly in PR
Although the AC-130 gunships do provide aid to Marines, it has been brought up several times before and it's been concluded that it does not fit with Project Realitys game play.

That reminds me the M4 is being used according to my friends in the Marines. However I was watching future weapons and they had m16s that could be dumped in the sand and would not jam. Does this mean the m16 will still be used? I also saw guns that could angle around corners. They had video cameras on them so shooters could look around the corner without putting himself in harms way.
