PR, I'm begging of you, ask the PoE team for help in coding your damn missiles. They're horrible as is, whether you're in an aircraft, an AA vehicle, stinger, AA kit, or firing an RPG through a window, they're horrific. And maybe ask them for help with dynamic craters? Although being able to blow up air-strips was an advancment, how about blowing holes in dirt from a tank shell, mortar, grenades, bomb, etc? Srsly, just suck it up and ask for help.

so how do you blow holes in a terrain that cant be modified in game? answer me that Mr.wizard...hehe

Missles are being worked on right now...was on the list but just made it now as air vehicles have been one of last focus points for PR

Play PoE, get into a tank, and shoot at the ground. Banda bang, banda boom, crater. Ask how they did it.

PoE2 ground craters have no collision mesh, meaning they look cool bu they offer no cover/protection.

PoE2 AA missles do not behave well with PR jet speeds. That is the problem, PoE2 jets are incredibly slow, thats why the AA missles work so well..

It disapears and gives the illusion its solid cover. I think its better without, unless there is a lag free way to register all those effects.

Also, the RPGs and missiles are awful on PoE in my opinion. They move horrendously slow and drop like an anvil.

PR's aircraft are still very WIP, we hardly worked on the jets in .6

It takes around 3 releases to get something where we like it, first we worked on the infantry, then the jeeps, then the APCs, tanks, choppers and now jets. While of course we are still perfecting all the other stuff as we go but never forget that PR is not a final version and every release will always have its bugs.

On the note of those craters. This is the second thread I've seen on this. I can tell you they are nothing special. I play PoE2 myself, and the craters are purely visual. You can't interact with them, they're not even big enough to hide in and last only for a few seconds.

The two "craters" you see in the front are the ones caused by tanks and bombs and all the heavy firepower, the two in back were made by the mapper, meaning they stay consistent for the entire round. I mention this because the last thread claimed that those other two craters were created by a bomb dropped by aircraft, which isn't true.

Also, if you ask me the OP's attitude isn't very positive. You just don't tell the devs to "suck it up" and go ask another team to help them with something.

The PoE guys are very, very good. The craters I don't like because we're trying to move away from things that look like the can hid you, but actually can't.

AA missiles and weapons are really fubar in PR. I think they got worse recently heh. Need to work them out .. high priority for v0.7 to work on them.

the craters blend pretty well good work on that one...be interesting to see how oftem they glitch above the terrain or something...i guess they could just make them deep though...hmm...too bad its not real deformation...i can dream cant i?

am i the only person who thinks the starter of the thread should be a little more polite? bss can (from what i understand) share code freely, which means that if pr wanted poe's code, they wouldnt have to "swallow their pride" (as you implied) and ask, it would be a friendly donation so to speak from poe to pr (most probably, i can only speculate as i am not a member of bss at all).

"i think you guys should try and incorporate this code from poe into pr:____" would be the way i would phrase it.

PoE isn't part of BSS.

But yes, it was a rather rude way of asking and thats no way to go about making a suggestion.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

somehow i like POE... plz dun ban me =D

The craters look good imo. But there's still alot to do about them, you should actually be able to hide behind them and they shud last for more than some seconds :/

this guy sounds like a ******* , i dont know if you notice but erm.. this is a mini mod (not to me though) its .6 not 1.0 theres still a lot of things that are going to be added to call it a full modification
