PRC Special Forces

Post by PRC_Heavy_Z »

Currently, the Chinese special forces is overall very inaccurate. There are two major areas that needs to the changed: Uniform and Weaponry

Uniform

You will never see a chinese sf soldier wearing a berret while operating, they are used only for parades (even then very rarely). You will mostly find PRC SF soldiers wearing helmet, booney hats (the one currently worn by medic in PR), or dew rags.

I suggest dew rags for the chinese sf because it is the "new look", here are some pictures

Weaponry

Chinese SF do not use the QBZ-95B, they use the QBZ95 (standard) and some even use the 05 smg. The only people I have seen armed with the QBZ95B were crewman or special police, overall this gun (qbz95b) is not widely used because it is expensive, it can't exchange parts with QBZ95, and it lack the power

Great job on making the best realism mod DEVs!, would love to see these changes applied, thanx.

It should be possible, it only require a brief reskin right? (I don't know too much about modeling/skinning)

They would have to make a whole new model because the DEV's cant touch the DICE models without getting yelled at.

DICE models can't be touched, edited, saved, or ruined in any way. Unless you get someone from DICE to edit them for you. But yes they'd have to make a completely new model which would take a lot of time. Depends on what the priorities are for the next release.

Actually, you can edit the models to a certain extent. You just can't edit the model from what I understand. Otherwise we could never reskin the USMC & MEC sides to what they look like now.

From I've seen, there's the player model, and the accessories added to the player models depending on the kit/class they're carrying. It may or may not be possible to simply remove the headgear for the Spec Ops, and reskin the head so that the player model looks like he's wearing a du-rag. It's actually simple enough for someone in the community to do (If someone feels like it of course). Otherwise, to save time you could just give the Chinese Spec Ops the booney hat as opposed to the Beret.

Yeah, you can remove stuff from the models via code, for example the TOW launchers on the LAV-25, but otherwise...
