Louder than the guns. Its freakin annoying to hear. I only request the gun/explosion sounds be turned up when compared to people on the radio and such.

Couldn't they be made a a bit louder? So they are pretty loud but it dosn't lag everyone? I get THE BEST espirience out of the game when the gunshots and such are loud hands down.
The problem is the radio chatter that buggs like crazy.

Last time I turned the volume up to "get in the experience" as I like to call it, I had the neighbors call the police on me :) I love surround sound and cranked up all the way!

You can hear a tank firing from 1 KM+.
and if your experienced, youll be able to recognize the range, if its a friendly, the model (T72, M1A1, etc) and if the round is coming at you or away from you.
I do sounds for a game called World War Two Online (think Flashpoint set during WW2 as a multiplayer-only game)

We have our sounds set to max distances 3k, so yeah, I can understand how beautiful a battery of anti-tank guns sounds firing at those kinds of ranges.

lol, same here! I have a 5.1 surround system that came with a powered sub. I built two of my own 10inch powered sub woofer boxes, portholes calculated and everything. Put some subs in the boxes. Disconnected the wire from the original powered sub. Bought a splitter for the wire and plugged both of the 10inch powered subs in.

Fired up BF2, got in the M1A2 and HOLY **** my walls vibrated, everything fell off my desk, I have a projection screen monitor system too so my projection screen was like wiggling. That M1 has some wicked low frequency sounds in it's initial acceleration.

I have a SoundBlaster card. The card allows you to tweak the different channels of sound to your own frequencies as well as different volume levels. So I have my system tweaked like no other. Even the handguns have the tendency to ring my ears a little when I turn the volume up almost all the way.

I try not to do that anymore though because I had the laws come to my house one day because my neighbor thought someone got shot..I had just spawned, forgot the volume was all the way up, and just as I spawned someone shot me at point blank with a pistol. Scared the hell out of me. Plus you could hear my guy go "ahhh" when he got killed. Of course i turned it down after that. The cops came to the house with 3 cars and 4 cops. Lights on and everything. Funniest part is, they rang my doorbell! I answered the door with a granola bar in my hand. I dropped it when I seen guns drawn. I was like, "Can I uhhh, help you?" They asked if they could come in and I was like, hell yea man, but you gotta take your shoes off. As soon as I said that they all just pushed right past me and started looking around.

I asked them what the hell was goin on and they told me. And I laughed for about 3 minutes flat. Then I showed them what it was. Two of them just walked away and left. One was still looking around. The other was like, whoaa, that system is wicked.

But the ******** never took thier shoes off... :cussing:

I love the new sound and volume. Just a sugjesty- when i hear the gun fire of other players a ways away, it seems loud compared to the ones next to you, maybe some kinda echo effect would be realistic and help differenciate the shots being fired in your area and the ones across the map. Especially in urban maps where the buildings cause shots' sound waves to bounce through an area with more delay as it get further away. Just as long as the echo didnt make a single shot sound like a full auto...

note: spelling has no bearing on inteligence, lol.

Or not-

Only thing that sucked was I was threatened with a noise pollution ticket. :(

So again, I try not to turn it up that loud anymore. Not to mention, I really dont need to be going deaf any time soon..lol.

With sounds most likely exceeding 130db im sure it's quite possible...

GRB, I am glad you are a PR... PR rep... You fit the job perfectly!

Anyways, yah, ALL radio chatter noises need to be turned down to about 20% of how loud they are now. I can't count how many time's I have died while listening to someone sneak around me, start to plan my ambush, then "Requesting A Medic!" "Go Go Go!" from the squad across the map. Brrrap brrrap brrap! I'm gone. FUCK!

And yes, If you play against me, I know exactly where you are as long as I can hear your footsteps... be afraid.

GRB that is sweet.... nothing quite that severe happened to me... but yea, neighbours called once or twice and asked if everything was alright after a couple times of accidentally having volume up way too loud and firing the rifles :)
