Yelling

Post by Armand61685 »

Courtesy of cerberus, I think yelling to people in a close vicinity needs to be implemented. A la America's army. And maybe also speaking softly to people in your own squad. We don't need all of this radio chatter; that should only be reserved for SLs and platoon leader.

Make it so that, when you spot a tank, that it always resonates as a yell, kind of how you already hear people who are close to you give their voice commands.

I'm pretty sure that's possible. It's already implemented in regular BF2. When you are close to a player that is spotting something or something along those lines, instead of hearing it over the radio, you hear it comming from the player.

I also agree that radio commands need to be reduced. Not eliminated, just reduced. Maybe we can simply have squad orders and such over the radios.

A cool thing about implementing player voice commands instead of radio commands is that you will be able to hear the other team talking to eachother as well. (If they're close by of course.)

I agree completely!

If your not squad leader / commander, you only hear yelling (and see it on location of the spot on the map.)

But increase the sound of the yelling, so you can hear it from 20 meters or so.

This gives non-US side and advantage because I don't think many here speak Chinese or Arabic. As it is now I can hear "throwing frag!" and other phrases that give them away.

Don't get me wrong I'm all in favor of this idea, especially getting rid of those loud arse radio commands, but I'm just looking at all the information here...

But the voice commands already exist for the chinese and arabs; it's all there. Just make it so that when u spot something or call for back up, make them yell it rather than radio it (unless you're a squad leader). The yelling sounds actually already exist, maybe they aren't loud enough tho.

And, like we have been saying, there should be an option to yell it and say it in a low volume (kinda like how the non radio voice is now).

i miss the old bf1942 radio system. u had a choice whether to talk to people around u or on the radio to everyone on your team. the good old days.

these radio spamming bf2 commands need to go. they are so annoying and are louder than my tank firing shells and blowing things up.

agreed. spotting should still be enabled though. with yelling and the red dot. And there should be like a cooldown if radio/yelling is enabled. because we dont like to hear "ENEMY INFANTRY SPOTTED ENEMY INFANTRY SPOTTED" spammed over for the same unit.

Edit: SQ leaders should definitely be able to communicate via VOIP. And maybe the sq leader can have an option to have his squad listen to the SQ leader/commander voip so you can have specialized orders. example: A squad with two engineers can both hear the voip of the squad leaders talking in case both are needed.

Right, but when they yell commands and such, we should be able to hear them at further distances.

For instance, when a grenade is thrown, the US forces yells FRAG-OUT! You can hear that quite far. Things like that should be more frequent.

Anyway, your idea of implementing this is a great one and should be considered. I just don't know how much flexibility the Battlefield 2 engine code is, so I personally can't say how easy it would to implement.

I personally like the idea of yelling taunts lol.

EDIT: now that I think if it, BF2 engine code already has this. I hear the enemy screaming "medic" etc, so it would be easy to implement.
