[Static Model] my first model

Post by LekyIRL »

Well after some inspiration from [R-Dev]e-Gor and Z-trooper,I finally got around to downloading Gmax(again) and found the tutorials.
Well I spend a about 2 hours for the past 2 days doing the tutorials.
Then I got tired of it and said 'To hell with this!.' :-)
I spend the next hour making/trying to make something.
I this is what I finally managed to make:

Looks good, especially for a first effort.

I hope to be blowing up your statics in PR soon! :D
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Could anyone direct me to skinning tutorials?
Or at least tell me how to save my model in such a way that GIMP recognises it?

Erm, you can't open a model in gimp...

First, you need to UV map it. There must be a tutorial for it in the Gmax tutorial pack...

Right,I fiddled around a bit and it seems that Gmax comes with some sort of material editor.I'll upload pics later.

Well mapping was the first thing I found tutorials/learnt how to do. I also get more enjoyment out of mapping and do actually find it easier.
I mean anyone can make a map,it's making a good map that's hard. ;-)
