Smeg: Fuzz commands a lot and promotes good teamwork, db flips vehicles, Bosco is an all-round nub, Outlawz is an SP whore, Nickbond is a friggin ninja and Rhino gets kicked for being a n00b.

I went from a 19" monitor with everything on max, to a 20.1" LCD @ 1680x1050 with a mix of medium and high with 8xAF 2xAA to the same monitor with a 8800GTS with everything on high and 16xAF and 8xAA.
The end result is that the mix of medium and high settings looked almost exactly the same as the all high settings. The settings I found to make the most difference in this game to make it look nice were the anti-aliasing and anistropic filtering (as well as vysnc for my monitor). BF2 needs 2xAA as it is extremely jaggey especially around the sights. The difference between 2xAA and 8xAA isn't much in this game. I found that 8xAF really makes the terrain and buildings come alive, a lot less muddy looking. The 16xAF again isn't much of a big step up as going from 4xAF (in game setting for high AF) to 8xAF.
If you can run with a mix of high and medium with 2xAA and 8xAF you will be getting 95% out of this game IMO.
BF2 is just not a really pretty game so your not really missing out. I though I was hence the 8800GTS, which is nice for other games, didn't gain me much in BF2.
