Possible Mosin changes?

Post by DavidP »

I really enjoy being a mosin sniper on Mestia and Basrah and it is a great kit and all but please can we have a pistol or some kind of side arm?

I really hate being in a tree line and having my position comprimised by a brit 10 feet away, The bolt action of the rifle makes it useless when confronted in CQC, The nades are'nt a good choice as they are moving(and nades are meant for killing stationary targets), And the Knife? Well thats just sui-fucken-cidal.

Or when Sniping in my "Special Sand dune" Having some other sniper take out his side arm and kill me!

Please it would really be a nice addition and balance a few things out(I mean US/GB/MEC/PLA snipers have side-arms and so do RPG gunners{The biggest goddamn soloists in PR i dont even know why they have the pistol} Is it because they are unconventional? Even in an unconventional army you might as well give your snipers a weapon to defend them selves when confronted by an enemy at close range)

Agreed even militia snipers should have sidearms, but I guess if things don't change, you should be operating in teams even if you are a sniper. Your spotter functions as your CQB defense so you can get out of Dodgev

Thats another problem. Most people dont wanna be spotters(they think it is "boring" to spot targets), There is no spotter kit for them to get in any army i know it has been suggested many times thats why i did'nt wanna bring it up.(And because most people who spot for me are really good at doing it as rifleman or spec-ops)

Unless i'm playing with a fellow sniper or someone with binocs(Other then civi) I'm alone and i enjoy it to an extent but dread when they find out it's a sniper thats been taking them down and decide to ambush me.
When i do go as spotter in Militia it's usually Medic for Insurgents it's either civi or if i'm really lucky AA with the AK and Grail(If no Rambo wannabe has run off with that kit)

Also for Militia the skorpion would not be good for a side-arm maybe a 9 semi auto? Only for the snipers of course.

Yeah, a pistol with the mosin pick up would be nice.

Eh? I thought single-zoom level and being mucky would be exactly what a WW2 scope would look like 62 years + afterwards. Although I'd of thought they might get a new one for it by then I guess.

no i meant a diffrent sight
the curent scope is terrible

WW2 scopes used by russia and germany had 3 lines and a space in the middle
but the one in game is all wrong

I like to be a spotter or recon and i don't think you need a kit for it as you can use the ones you have... i usually pick up the marksman kit for that task. But i guess it would be nice to have a SOFLAM in that kit.

Ah I get you. Sights are pretty cheap in the grand scheme of things I've heard so they might have just got a replacement for them. Can't imagine WW2 ones are too great.

Maybe give him a sling shot?

I think a pistol +1 mag would be fine but it is the insurgency so they don't always have the most balanced kit load outs.

The mosin site is nasty...the lines are so thick it looks like they've been drawn with a crayon. Maybe its true to life, if so thats fine...otherwise I'd like to see it tightened up a bit. Pistol seems nice, if a guy was handy enough to be able to get his hands on a Moisin IRL, he'd probably have access to the average pistola.

Well the Mosin Sight in its current state is perfect, think about it 65 years on poorley maintained.
The field of view on the mosin is tiny also as IRL this is an actual Mosin Cross hair:

Case closed? me thinks

A nice side arm would kick *** the insurgent M(r)444 (i think) is way too modern they should have the Tokerov TT its a 7.62 so it has nice stopping power... :-P

Thats site there is WAY better than the existing one...mearly because it has an actual fine point with which to aim. The one now is just two thick lines...there is no fine point and they cover up your target. If thats the real scope, thats what I want...I have no problem what so ever with the one on your screen shot.
