FORWARD OPS
Forward OPS,
Cheomesh (Expendable Grunt) and I do this when we are the only ones in our TS,
Forward Ops,is just that, a Spec Ops and an Engineer go to the enemy teams mainbase and destroy command objects and APC's and such.
This is not Base Raping,
Since we are spec ops WE WILL NOT WIN IN A FIRE FIGHT,
We only kill an enemy when they spot us or attempt to kill one of us,
and if they do we get the hell out of there with the Humvee.
When we played we had a pretty good commander, so we could inform him on things like, APC leaving and their trajectory,
I do not consider it baserape,

I think its ok, and also dont consider it baseraping.
The bad thing is a feew days ago on a preaty popular server cant recall the name but a admin called [FR]Armare/Armada or somthing the like kicked a guy for doing that and told him he whas useles lol the guy did destroy 2 apc and 2 commander station and a filled car with enemy troops as engineer it whas hilarous howe the admin told him what to do with his game. But i doo the same all the time to it actully benefits your own team that you go up and hold back enemy transportations option to the fronline, and on the map we were playing called Operation ghost train we hade all the flagg on ouer side off the river and the chineese hade all the flaggs on there side, after giving the mate that got kicked from the server ammo a feew times and i whent back to the frontline ouer team still lost though, the enemy got suplyes back and apc etc after that 1 guy got kicked called useless acording to the admin, so the game whas lost because off a wierd admin and this shows howe mutch differense that one guy did at the enemy mainbase the only thing he did whas placing mines around 100 meters from mainbase exit and go in with C4 and blow up the commander assets.
Because off this i saw there and howe mutch differense it does do in a game i have started to doo that all the time now myself, its a huge part off the game to stop the enemy from getting armored suport or suplys etc, and does make the differense.
And yes he did also inform and spot evry time a enemy chopper took off or a car etc left the mainbase and it didient hit a mine or so.
And its not base raping cause we did not shoot ones. i mean the cars etc hade all the chances in the world to spot the mines etc and go around them iff they open up there eyes and the commander off the enemy team keept comming back to repair his assets and we keep blowing it up cause i suplied the guy with ammo.

And that's as it should be. The community is divided on whether this is an allowable action, and my belief is that rather than try to reach consensus (which - let's face it - we're never going to do), server owners should be allowed to set their own rules on this matter.HABO3 wrote: some servers like to dictate where you can and can't fight.
As long as it is posted in the server MOTD (Something along the lines of Baseraping: NO, Forward Ops: NO, RP Camping: YES) so that anyone joining the server is aware of the type of play expected then I don't see it as being a problem.
Speaking personally I have no problem with Forward Ops, but I will always respect the server admin's wishes.
Some bars allow you to take your glasses outside, others don't. This isn't much different IMHO.

Well call it tactical, call it spec-oping call it what ever you want. Personally it can ruin a good round for both teams. I play to win but I also want to enjoy myself. If I have a group of guys taking down all the armour on the opposing team and I have managed to get a good tank crew going, I get to sit there for most of the round waiting on an opponent. I like a bit of a challenge, if most of the opposing team is trying to secure their main base and hence we have little resistance to cap flags, it makes for a boring round. Obviously it is frustrating if it happening to you as well.
So yes the two of you are being tactical but you could end up depriving the rest of the server a tactical round. Just my humble opinion.

I consider this a base rape, it achieves the same results as flying over with a helicopter and bombing the base.
This isn't really a 'real life' tactic, no commander will send two men in to a enemy base, that will most likely have over 100 troopers in it to put mines below the tanks, you really think such assets will be unguarded?and don't even dare to suggest that players will guard the main base its just not practical.
I have never heard of a operation done like you describe in real life to sabotage...
You have no real right to whine about it, each server dictates their own rules as they pay the bills - don't like it?there are plenty of other servers, you can even create your own.
