More effective ghillie suits
It might just be me but from a distance a sniper just looks like a regular infantry this makes it very easy to be spotted from a distance. I can't be the only person with this because I can be hiding in the middle of the jungle and people see me just fine.

Problem is, the ghillie suits don't render when you are far away from them sniper, making them look like infantry without any backpacks, etc. Same with the grass and shrubbery.(sp?)

I think grass rendering at longer than it is now is a total no-go area because of the engine.
Ghillie Suits are only effective at short range and in long grass. If you were ever a Sniper on Mao Valley you'll know what I'm talking about. Just stay still and people walk right over you without even realising, well, until they get stabbed in the back of the head
I would love to see a map with really long grass like Mao again, or something like the map Fallen, in PoE2 mod, that's amazing

Helmand Province too, for both sides.dunehunter wrote:Another map where this is a real problem is that Phoenix map, where people on the US side seem to think that they can hide in the grass. Oh so wrong...

the main problem is that most people don't know how to use the ghillie suits in game.
all you have to do is find some grass, and lay STILL.
what most people do is hop in a bush and then start moving around and looking around, expecting to be invisible.
even in VBF2, i've had other gamers walk (run) right by me without even noticing. when they stop to fire the '203, i knife em in the back.
except in vbf2, ghillie suits were almost effectively nullified by the fact that all a commander had to do is scan, uav, or spot-spam until he found you, and then he could either arty you, cartillery or supply-tillery you, or send a squad up or go up himself to kill you without you even knowing.
in pr, however, ghillie suits work wonders. the only problem in THIS game however, is that the sniper kit rarely ever gets used properly, and when it does, more often than not it either doesn't have a ghillie suit, or its on a map that doesn't really support it, such a desert or urban map. there are simply way too many of those.
