US and their M-16's
First off, great mod and this community is awesome. Been playing since the 0.3 release. So far, I have been having the most fun with the 0.6 release.
I apologize if this has been beaten to death, but I didn't find anything when I searched. Why is the US still using ironsites, especially on M-16s? Doesn't the typical loadout today for soldiers consist of the M4, or at least a scoped M-16? I am just finding that the US is at a severe disadvantage at range compared to the Chinese and MEC.
Any thoughts?

For future references:
M16A2, M16A4, Optic, Scope, ACOG, SUSAT, Ironsights, Ironsites.
Don't tell me this won't be found.

XM-8? Wasn't that cancelled?Petey wrote:yeah the US M16 has a scope on it, my dad is in Iraq and he sends me tons of pictures
but I heard that the current military standard rifle, the M16, is going to be replaced by the XM-8.

No! Not the XM-8! That rifle is only comparable to a water cannon..

M16A4

They have different specs and also different looks:hall0 wrote:Stupid question, maybe answerd many times but is there any difference between the m16a2 and m16a4 exceping the look? And will the m16a2 completely removed then?

(talking about the XM8 ) It was.
But...
The XM8, HK416, FN SCAR and M4 are currently under trial in Iraq to see if the M4 is the best weapon US troops could possibly be carrying. So it might come back.
Anyway, AFIK the search function needs 5 letters/numbers to turn up results. So stuff like M16A2 and ACOG wont.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!
