A suggestion for basrah.

Post by Ecko »

Ok, basrah is by far my favourite map, but the whole right hand side is unused so here is my idea.

At the top right a small base could be placed, with a spawn location like the VCP (So once destroyed you have to foot it out there.)
It would contain: One jeep, 2 Ribs. This would enable river patrols/operations.
Also there would be a Lock up building, inside would be 3 rpgs, 2 pkms and an SVD. There would be a door that had to be blown that can only be destroyed by the insurgent side. I think this would provide an awesome new area to fight and new tactics.

I don't really think we need to encourage more insurgents to go after more brithish assets/flags. From the way I understand it the insurgents are not ment to be a big offensive force more of a hit and run, ambush, and defencsive force.

It would be fine to impliment what your suggesting, minus the weapon storage and cappable flag, to give the brits a river presence. :)

What changes does the current map need?
Exactly my point.

I think Basrah plays pretty well right now but could benefit from a larger city. Now I don't know if a larger city would work on the current map size or not. More to the point does Basrah need to sit on a Kashan size map with a larger City and more developed villages or should it simply have it's current city increased?

Personally I don't want to see the map size get to much larger as this is more of an infantry style map. Im not sure what the current sizes are buy I think Basrah is 2km x 2km and Kashan is 4km x 4km?? If so perhaps an increase to 2.5km x 2.5km would give enough room for the brits to get access the outskirts of an enlarged city safely?

Right, I'm off to NASA to steal the super-computer I would need to run this map...

They will optimise the maps more, i.e, remove objects that you can't see but use up resources.
