The lack of DEV responce could mean a few things:
THEY ARE WORKING ON IT!
THere are are other things it could mean but considering them would dampan my hope and i dont feel like doing htat today!
If we continue to ignor other possiblities, lets hope that becuae 0.7 is nto goign to be released for a long long long long long long time, they will some how manage to find time to attempt it.
WUHOO I AM HAPPY AND IT IS BASED ON SPECULATION, SICK SPECULATION!

I'm pretty sure that you are not able to edit anything to do with squads at all... That's just based on the fact that 8 man squads, no VOIP between squads etc. isn't possible.Jonny wrote:So are destructible buildings, rally points, commander assets, etc.
Whats your point?

you may be right but 3 magazines seems an awful lot like suicide. i was thinking 6 mags (for 5.56) and 4 mags (7.62) for paratroopers. and also, any well-armed military would issue mostly iron-sight (or small reflex sights if you get the kind funding that the us military does) carbines or folding-stock assault rifles to their paratroopers, not full-length scoped assault rifles as suggested.
why would airborne officers have demolition capabilities beyond frag grenades??!! im sure they have airborne engineers...
for paratroopers to be created, new maps and possibly new game modes would be required. unless we can get 128 players on a server, there just aren't enough players to simulate an airborne assault coupled with a main assault force. I don't see paratrooper factions coming any time before v1.0 is released...
remember that .7 will have limited SF kits with (i think)parachutes and frags.

Maybe the paratrooper could spawn with 1 + 2 mags of rifle ammo, but can then resupply to get like 1 + 6 amount of ammo. That way, they can fight like a normal rifleman after they get to the rally point and resupply.
Probably hardcoded....

There's pretty much never going to be paratroopers in game as far as I've heard.Maverick--113 wrote:Maybe the paratrooper could spawn with 1 + 2 mags of rifle ammo, but can then resupply to get like 1 + 6 amount of ammo. Precisely. Also no AC-130's will be in game ever by the sounds of it.
I think the way of using officer kits to limit what kits can be used in a squad is very good though (If another way of designating isn't possible). I don't however think their should be a spec ops squad for numerous reasons stated by developers and military advisers/people who know alot of **** about the military i.e. Bob. Also I think there should be the possibility of having 2 types of armour squad. So perhaps:
Infantry - Usual kinda stuff, no Crewman/Pilots
Mech. Infantry - Usual kits + 2 crewman so 1 Tank/APC can be operated
Armour - Has a crewman-officer kit plus 1 additional crewman place (depending on how the tanks are going to operate in subsequent releases). Perhaps make this through the FH2 system that was mentioned in a thread I made (the devs said they were working on a squad level equivalent). Basic premise for this would be so Armour pieces would be in separate squads so it's easier for the commander to communicate and coordinate them.
Air - Has a pilot-officer kit + one other pilot place, similar setup to armour squad
The armour and airs idea are kinda controvertible based on other peoples ideas of collaborative squads, so feel free to poke holes in them.

But they still do similar things, the picture used in this suggestion for the Special Forces section is of a Navy Seal patrol in Ramadi, Iraq. Not only does it show that the Navy Seals (and many other Special Forces groups) are patrolling the streets just like the regular army are doing, and to say that the groups arent working together is a bit strange, you look at many infantry divisions and the support they receive (or the support they provide) is from (or for) Special Forces units.

I would just like to say in reference to the original post that this is the...........BEST IDEA EVER.
This will ENFORCE people to do thier jobs and use the kits properly. Don't you hate it when there's an 'armor' squad but someone else took the tank (probably on thier own too).
It would create a more organised battlefield to no end, it needs to be implemented as soon as possible. I mean after all this is NOT an aesthetic suggestion, it is GAMEPLAY based and it has to be the single biggest and most important change that could ever take place.
I honestly think this is more important than fixing 'Insta prone' and the time we got a release with the M4 fixed (can't remember version number - was a while ago).
