trasport heli+land vehicle=real trasport heli
ok so on the insurgent map al basrah i was looking at the british heli(while trying to cram a dirtbike into it) and thinking wouldnt it be cool having a heli like that(the door in the back(i LOVE f*cking with it when people are shooting out the back)) that you could actually fit a land vehicle into so you could take your pilot have him start up the engines while you and your gunner are pulling the apc to the back of the heli to have a nice ride.and it would just be really cool being able to see that being pulled off in the crappy bf2 engine.and i was thinking being able to walk around in the helis(you dont push e to enter a real heli you just jump in) but yeah like walk around normally not if you walk youll fall through

why dont the people at project reality make their own game and forget about ea/dice's game engine and make there own and sell it, i could see it becoming even more popular then bf2. the bf2 engine is realy limiting some of the great ideas here.
i really like the idea of a apc or car in a heli to move it around faster, you could also stuff alot more people in a heli.

That would be nice, but making a game from scratch is a lot more complicated, than making a mod.zangoo wrote:why dont the people at project reality make their own game and forget about ea/dice's game engine and make there own and sell it, i could see it becoming even more popular then bf2. the bf2 engine is realy limiting some of the great ideas here.

The BF2 platform is the best engine available for a mod like PR atm, and as much as there is that isn't possible with the engine, there's also tons of stuff that is possible, that no other engine can do.
Getting the source code isn't as easy as just asking politely - EA is in the business of making money, not being nice.
What about the Armed Assault platform, would that be another good alternative engine for PR ?

First, BF2 won't allow vehicles to be transported by other vehicles because of clipping issues. (My guess is was that it was supposed to allow you to run people over[Create damage, therefore damages each other, thus exploding]).
Second, I highly doubt an APC would fit into a merlin.
You are able to walk around in the merlin (When still/hovering), although because of the reason I thought of before you can't. IRL, you'd probably strap yourself in.
As Garabaldi said, the advantages exceed the disadvantages (a clear one is the ability for 64 player).

As for the EA spam.
I'm sure with:

Why not ask EA if PR can be a game of it's own rather than an expansion pack for BF2 ? EA now owns the name and makes yet more cash out of it.
