Give pilot\crewman directions

Post by nicoX »

Is it possible letting SL's when getting in a chopper give the pilot instructions where to land. When SL marks it on his map it should show up on the pilots map too. Or any other similar solution. Giving chat messages mostly get ignored. And only SL's should order where it should fly. Now when APC spawn is getting removed this is gonna get even more important.

Before I tell the CO and if he have the time to look up the squad where the pilot is and if that squad have a SL with VOIP it will take 2 minutes.

If the Team has a designated transportpilot, gridreference over Chat should definitly do the trick, easy enough for everyone. If that pilot ignores the chat, he'll ignore the marker aswell. You can also rely the information through the Commander, but this is not a better alternative for many reasons.

most good pilots are reading the chat text when they pick someone up, just type it in.

i as a commander type it in team chat and tell the pilot which squade needs a ride, since the commander gets more attention!

As soon as someone gets in my chopper I ask 'Where to?', if they don't answer I just don't take off - unless it's in a hostile area obv. All good pilots should be checking the chat, if they don't find another way there.
