MEC and Insurgent idea

Post by Danthesandman »

Before i say anything, no i dont have the right programs for map building cos if so id giv it a try. Iv been looking at some real life footage of battle in iraq (not geting into anythn political) like this...
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=6a5_1188772253
And i thought, all the middle eastern maps are based in next to dessert stile. Looking at this footage is there anychance we can get maybe an insurgent map with more trees. maybe a plantation along a river side with thick under grouth. im just getn sik of being sniped in the middle of no-where. these plantations could be something good for the insurgents to hide in, maybe even a cache or 2. a little shake hidn in the middle and maybe a small underground bunker like on al basrah. something like that.

and 1 other thing. if infantry dont want to go in. then pull out the tank support and clean things out.

Won't work I think, with BF2's engine.

well im sure insurgent and allied forces are not only fighting in the desert (LIKE NOW)
It should be realy cool to have some desert\village\woodland fights

like helmand province but then mixed with desert :)

Errr.... it is possible to create tunnels, or at least the illusion of it. There are a couple of ways to do this and the devs have already done so on a few of their maps.

You can't actually place an object under the terrain, nor can you mold the terrain into a tunnel.

However what you can do is create a large static object with tunnels and such. Mold the terrain in a specific shape so that you can fit the static object in it like a puzzle piece. Not the best way of explaining it, but I'm sure the devs know what I'm talking about.

As for the OP, yeah it would be nice to see maps that are set in the desert come with a little more green. I mean there are places in the middle-east that are abundant with vegetation.

As mentioned by Terranova, tunnels are possible by using models.

In any case, tunnels are fun. I say we need more. :D

Al Basrah needs a park.

As for geting sniped out of nowhere, it's because of the render distance on it. Al Basrah has modified grass (?) so it renders quite far away.

Sicario says it's a static. I CAN predict the future...

its not a midified grass, its a static that looks like grass , and cause lag if you zoom on it btw.

Like this map maybe? Which looks awesome. Militia vs Russia I think.
Probably not exactly what you mean, but worth looking at for a map with tunnels, undergrowth even though its militia.
