Pretty sure [ABA]Litteldragon knows this seeing as he's a Senior Non Commissioned Officer in the British Army ;)

yup sucks to have someone buging you the whole round. but some SLs want to help and thats a whole different story. i once tryed to help a new guy commanding and he messed up a few times, i kept helping him but he finaly resigned. that made me feel bad, cause i thought if i havent said anything he would have just worked its way up. man i still feel guilty :(

Actually. AAA gun = Anti Air Artillery

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-aircraft_warfare

Although the gun in-game is not technically "artillery", AAA has come to envelop most stationary non guided anti air guns.

and wtf does "guys this does not even a gun" mean?

/off topic

Anyways, one thing that you have to take into account is that in-game, you just sign up for commander, you don't earn it, and that puts a lot of strain on SL's.

Unless it is a well known and proven commander, chances are SL's will not agree to do everything the Commander tells them, too, because even if a large part of the game is winning, there is also fun, and I don't think its fun when a commander tells you to go halfway across the map when you already have a set plan for what you're going to do.

Take for example Mestia. I made a squad named "Ambush", guess what I wanted to do?

So we're set up and we take down several APCs, Saxons, Commander Trucks, and the odd ATV and any infantry that decides that they don't like being shot out of nowhere.

Now this commander comes on line, no VoIP or anything, and starts bugging me to go defend West tower when there's already a squad or two there. I explain to him that I named my squad its name for a reason, he says ok, and ago back to blowing stuff up.

3 minutes later he starts bugging me again, I explain it again, three minutes later he starts spamming the "horrible squad" thing at me.

We weren't directly defending, but we did take out a whole bunch of APCs that would have surely helped break any resistance at West.

Ugh yea, I've had a bad experience with commanders. They are too worried with their "overall" battle, while I'm worried about my "overall" battle.

Long story short, I sent my squad to take out enemy APCs which wasn't near a flag. Blah blah blah stuff happens and we go circle around to cap gardens, we lost N Desert. We can't do anything against the tanks up there so we chill at Gardens for a bit, till the tanks advance towrads our main. At this point the commanders bitching at me nonstop because of the AAS system. I see him tell another squad to request supplies so they can get H-AT without gettin murdered, but the other squad didnt do anything. So I decide to request it, and guess what? It gets DENIED. We have perfect H-AT shots to the rear of tanks and nothing. I get bitched out for not defending the base(read: getting massacred with the rest of my team).

But either way, I very rarely have encountered good COs. My main gripes with the COs are that they either order me to do an order that I have set already(eg - attack here! Even though it's already there). Or B: remotely look at my orders and think for a second(eg- I have a move indicator 100m away from the flag, pretty much means I am going to set a rally so stop chill).
Sigless.

He wouldnt have had to go to Sandhurst, hes a NCO, not a CO....

As for Squad Leaders not listening, i fail to find enjoyment in listening to a 13 year old scream down the mic "OMFG, GUYS, GET TO NEXT FLAG BEFORE I R GET PIZED OFF!!!!1111111!!!!111!!!11"

Its jsut not enjoyable as a squad leader with a poor commanding officer. But when there is a good commanding officer i have much more fun as a squad member than a squad leader due to the fact that im terrible at bringing the bigger icture down to a single squad level.

Well its not in the game. In the game its AA not AAA. and yes Most new guys do resign but they mostly ask can u build this and this and the list keeps going, so u dont want to build.

Playing commander is not an easy thing to begin with and the payoff is usually either nothing or complaints from your squad leaders. However two evenly matched teams with only one having a decent commander makes a Huge difference in the outcome.

I always try to let a good commander know I appreciate his help. I also make "friendly" suggestions to commanders who are just learning. The learning curve is steep enough in this game without us bagging on people trying to learn a new way to play. My hat is off to anybody who takes the time to learn to command and who also plays on my team :)

Fully aware of the ins and outs of being an NCO compared to a commissioned rank ;) Tell me something, who do you think TRAINS the potential officers while at Sandhurst? Yep, that'd be corrent. SNCOs.
