Slow running speed, remove jumping
I am speaking from experience and observation of the firefights I have seen in PR and I still think that players are using their run as an alternative to cover; running in an open area is a death sentence in a real firefight, full stop. The speed that they are traveling is a little too high right now. I know that the running speed has been slowed a already, but it still doesn't feel or look like the soldiers are significantly affected by the weight of their weapons and equipment. The speed that they are moving is perfect for someone without any equipment. I can still regularly hit moving targets despite this, but its just something that could be tweaked. I think that it needs to be about two thirds of what is now.
I think that running has become too much of a strategy and needs to be just a method of transportation. I was talking with someone in the army about PR and he mentioned how fast the soldiers were moving, despite all of their added weight. He describes moving around "It's more of a jog/ shuffle thing, not like a run then walk the way it is here."
As for jumping, the only thing that I can think of gameplay wise that needs jumping is getting into tanks. I think that perhaps just adding either a ladder to the side or just allowing players to enter from the back (while still being able to enter or exit from the top), would make up for this rather out of place feature. The running speed isn't as much of an issue as this. It just sticks out like a sore thumb; Jumping needs to go. Anyways I know this has been mentioned, but I just wanted to add my $0.02

I agree with the running suggestion however there are some statics in the game that soldiers would be able to climb/scale. There are even some statics such as the steps to the temple that you can barely get over without jumping even though the step is about 1 inch high. A lot of players would be trapped inside of statics that they would realistically be able to get over.
The running suggestion I have no problem with.

I disagree. Running speed is fine. If you're caught in open ground you'll sprint as fast as your legs can carry you in real life as your life depends on it. I don't see why PR would need to be any different.
It's not like they are carring bergens in game. Sure the weight of armour, ammo gun and helmet etc adds kilos but soldiers are strong and very fit. They will run fast if they need to.

I think we could remove jumping high without much problems.
Would need to update the tank entry points and some maps could get some kind of stairs to get on top of hesco barriers and fortifications, but it's very simple.
I would keep a little jump, something like 1/3 or 1/4 of the soldier model height just to get passed those annoying places you get stuck.

in my opinion this is a really vanilla request in my opinion i mean look at the running speed it takes me and my squad to run between bunkers on kashan but it is true that soldiers move alot slower but they could run if needed as fast as a track team thats y they go to boot camp, second jumping gone????? hey heres an idea lets go revelutionary style and stand in a line and shoot lol.........no flaming was intended just my 2cents but if you slow down speed and take away jumping feel like a nerf

yeah, except jumping around the battelfield is not a common thing to see in modern warfare. And neither is standing in line waiting to be shot.Rachio wrote:second jumping gone????? hey heres an idea lets go revelutionary style and stand in a line and shoot lol.........no flaming was intended just my 2cents
We are trying to go towards reality, not away from it.
As for the original suggestions, I agree with both points. Running could be a little slower, but just a little. And jumping could be removed if the devs will sort out problems with getting over obstacles etc.

how much slower do you want it? we're already running at a good enough pace, and even when we sprint that really only boosts us up to what was regular speed it seems. in this game i would think that jumping is another use of the the metaphorical in saying it's a way to climb over obstacles.. however jumpin on the battlefield looks plain dumb when it's open ground

I'm not really sure about the running speeds. I do like the current speeds but I don't know about changing them.
I don't like the idea of the jump being reduced or eliminated. There are two many situations where you need to jump to get over a simple obsticale in game. I also doubt that the Devs could make every such obsticale in game a non-issue to justify eliminating the jump. I hate seeing people jumping around like idiots or using it to avoid fire but it does serve a purpose.

I think the height of jumping should not be lowered, for jumping over walls or on tanks ect.
You should, however, not be able to jump (much) forward. So instead of jumping 2m forward, only jumping 0.5m forward, only to get over walls or on vehicles.
(I know this grammar sucks
)
Edit:
Red line means how it should not be (imo).
Blue line is how I'd like it to be.

I'd like to see speeds reduced too, it's somehow still to fast. Like in open ground you almost never run, you just walk..

I'm not a friend of reducing the height of the jump, but losing forward momentum seems okay with me. One of my favorite things to do is use a Humvee/Nanjing/Vodnik to get my squad over a wall; park next to the wall, jump onto the hood/wheel well and from the roof, over the fence. I don't think it is vanilla/noob/etc-ish; just realistic.

Speeds seem fine how they are now. If you see a guy running across a street in PR, it certainly does not look faster than what real life is like!
If you do anything to the jumping it's going to screw up the game. Think of all those places where you need to hop over a little wall, or hop up a little hill. If you lower the jump height, people will be stuck and have to walk around all the time, and it's going to feel stupid not being able to jump over something 2 feet tall.
