Rearrangement of the request UI

Post by Hardtman »

Hi,

As of late I have noticed that the list of requestable kits is growing rather large, especially when thinking of the ones yet to come like mortar and spec-ops. This makes it quite impractical to request them, so I thought of the following:

Just make three menue-points in the "t"-commo rose, which in turn produce a list when right clicked.
They could be arranged like this:

Vehicles

Crewman
Pilot

Quite self-explanatory, the kits to use to use vehicles.
This could also allow for a further separation of Helicopter and Jet pilots.

Infantry/Riflemen

Light AT
Manpads
Grenadier
Officer
Marksman
Support

Basically the kits that go into a usual infantry-squad and are just soldiers with an extra weapon. You could limit this section to kits that only have the standart-issue rifle, so making it more of a "Rifleman" section, Marksman and Support would then go into the following section:

Specialists

Heavy AT
Sniper
Spec-Ops

Wheee! I'm special! . This would feature the kits that serve a very specialised purpose and so do not fit into the Rifleman-secition. Mortar, if it will be implemented would probably also go here.

So, this would make everything easier to use and also allowing for more requestable kits in the future.
Also somehow I fear that EA managed to hardcode the friggin' Commo-Rose in a way that only the middle point can have a list -.-

Good suggestion, just not sure how easy it's to change it. HUD work is very annoying ;)

yeah, great suggestion but I'm not too sure if we can make little sublists.

I want a saboteur(sp?) kit. It should be in the "Specialist" list :)

Yeah, but thats the same 'level' on the HUD as the current kit list e.g

t - select kit - kit
q - spotted - specific enemy

This would require another 'level' added on, i would have thought...

great suggestion. Right now I don't see a problem with using the current system, but if we get a few more kits it's going to take like half a minute to find the kit you want from the list. :D

Very good idea if it's possible. It would be nice to have a tidier system with even more kits becoming limited.

Also we could add a fourth:

Lone-Wolf, l337, Pwnzors:
Please press alt+F4 to obtain:
Sniper
Marksman
Spec Ops

Relax, I was not suggesting that the kits were bad, rather if your play style is lone wolf, l337 etc. you should alt+F4.

When in doubt, realize that I defualt to sarcasim.

The original idea is still a good one.

Would be nice, it's rather damn annoying when you end up with a pilot instead of a crewman kit >_<
