Im sure this isnt your highest priority but since I use this guy a lot it is to me.

I don't agree/like your sig, avatar or name but i do agree with your suggestion the SVD is a wonderful rifle :razz:

It would seem that he's trying to wind people up. I don't see how it's any more or less acceptable then anyone showing pride in any other form of armed organisation, well I say organisation but one random, probably none existent guys probably can't be classified as an "organisation" I guess :-P .

The SVD sound is ok though, just seems like it needs the 'crack sound' accenting a little better which I'm sure a little EQing and EAX tampering could easily achieve (If their allowed to do that).

Comparing that google vid with the ingame sound i think its pretty damn close already. I think what makes it sound different on the vid to ingame is the environment echo or w/e the sound techies call it.

Its got the old model scope, the PSO-1, which is fairly realistic as its only going to be used by insurgents/maliita in the end, as the MEC will be getting the G3SG/1 as their DMR.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

To me it sounds nothing like the video it sounds like an air rifle in game.

1.The current sound is the EA/DICE sound, we haven't changed it yet.

2.Online videos are usually poor references for weapon sounds. For example, in your video the SVD sounds one way

In that, it sounds completely different. Microphones on video cameras are not intended to record such high SPL sounds as gunshots and thus, they are a poor reflection of a weapons true sound.

3.I'll be overhauling loads of weapons sounds in 0.7 so I'll see what I can do.

4.That name/sig/avatar is going to piss off a lot of this community something fierce.

What's the sig say anyway? To be honest I still think there are equally offensive things if you take a none NATO slant on these kinda things.
