Decaying corpses clear smoke
Noticed this on Mestia, a quick search didn't come up with anything;
When looking 'through' a decaying corpse, smoke around it's outline is effectively cleared, giving a clear line of sight through it.
Screen 1
Will try to get a better screenie later if that's unclear.

From a little testing, you only see through the smoke if there isn't a 'wave' of it between you and the corpse. So you can indeed see enemies, but they can't see you.LtSoucy wrote:ya i wouldnt becuase they can see u to.
I think proving a person is using it would be pretty hard, but it's still a dirty nasty glitch and people exploiting it should be forcibly castrated with a rusty butter knife.
And thanks for the welcome

Well the idea of having the corpses stay longer, is just because it's realistic and cool. I like it because you can verify kills easier (like if you trek up some mountain and there are the dead bodies). Plus the original idea behind it I think was to make it so when you kill someone, they don't just fakely disappear a little bit later, and by staying around longer, the chances of anyone seeing them disappear is reduced, because likely the killers have moved on by then.
The transparency is a feature in BF2 apparently, that one becomes noticeable when you keep the corpses around.
My idea is to "keep the corpses for 60 minutes instead of 2 minutes" but then delete them after 2 minutes. That way they will still be solid when they disappear - but I have no idea if this is possible with the code, and even if it is, it very well might be too expensive to do.

Hahaha I reckon the body odour of the dead corpse negates the smoke hahaha..
But seriously having the bodies stay solid till the end of the round would be awesome some areas on some maps would be like the scene from 300 pile up the corpses boys.

why do they have to be transparent? why can't we just have bodies on the ground?

Kinda a big revive (found this bug through the 'your first post' thing in OT), but it still exists;
