Sounds cool tho, some kind of pickup kit that allows you to unlock enemy vehicles?

Thanks, finally a post I was waiting for, no flames just IRL minded.
Conventional army's for first don't just park vehicles wherever and leave them for anyone to pick up.
Even if they would have found an enemy vehicle sure they wouldn't use it, nor camp it's .50 waiting for enemy to return to see how its darling is doing.
Not even a Milita would have done this.

Perhaps the "stolen" vehicle would have the friendly flag on it ?

I dont know... Maybe its incredibly situational, but ive never been in a game, seen an enemy vehicle and been like "ZOMG I wish i could use that right now!"

Also, it reminds me a bit too much of Vanilla and people running into your base and stealing your tanks (althoguh yousa id not armor, then someone stealing your HMMV etc.)

Maybe make it to where only if it has been moved out of its "Object Spawner location"?? a certain radius from where it spawns? like, so you cant jsut steal them before they can use them... but if you find it in the desert or something... go for it?

I guess... i dont know.. i really dont care though... but i see how having access to an enemy Vodnik on Kashan would be nice :)
Yeah, like I said.. there are so many vairable that could make PR even more realistic but finding a neutral solution to this idea for those who are against would ruin it for both sides... Either go all the way with it or leave it alone... THAT'S WHAT I SAY! :D The away from the enemy spawn location on a set radius is a genius idea I must say! If were heading to put this idea in the game fo real, then that's the solution!

And yeah it might be JUST LIKE vanilla but heck! Get real! It's PR not Vanilla BF2... Besides actually I've had times where I never escaped for my life and died running away because I couldn't use enemy vehicles... But that doesn't happen ALL the time... But get serious with yourselves and admit it would help you live longer sometimes... ;) lol. So don't be retarted and say that people that want this feature to be available in PR just want to create a better Vanilla cuz that'll never happen...

BF2 Vanilla is BF2 Vanilla and will always be that way... Being able to drive enemy vehicles is only a small, minor change... There is no way I think it'll feel like I'm playing the ol' bf2.. no way! Not in PR!

***Mabye we should ask a real soilder if he ever stole an enemy vehicle and used it against the enemy. (I'm not being sarcastic) - if we want an "All out on the battlefield total war experience" then mabye we should. I know I would if that was my ONLY choice and it's not like nobody can figure out how to open a car door and start up the engine are drive off in real life (assumeing the key is in the ignition) But for tanks... mabye not.

You really think so nicoliani?? I dunno about that... I would think that if anybody were to do it then of all people it would be a militia because the U.S. and other forces in other parts of the world are more organized than they are...

assuming...

I think you better make up your mind whether you want to play a realistic, team orientated game deflex. If all PR is for you is guns that kill faster and shoot better then well wrong mod. I would be very surprised to see the devs wasting time on bringing back vehicle stealing that could be spent doing useful stuff to improve gameplay/performance. The vehicle stealing, like it or not, is not going to add to teamplay, or realism, ever.

You don't need the enemy 5O cal to stay alive longer, you need to have your squad and your medic with you.

stealing spawn cars? :( for shame... thats scary... i hope that was sarcasm i missed :)

although admittedly it would be hilarious to hotwire a spawn car, drive it into the Brit base and just have a few Challengers camp it.... lol

I don't know what your talking about... I have already made up my mind and that's why I'm doing research on what people do in real war. I'm trying to come up with ideas that people might want to see in PR by reading a bunch of threads and considering the variables then I go and read a couple of hours on it... I might as well join the PR gmae community... I love the mod as it is but makeing it even more realistic to the point where you don't see the difference doesn't sound reasonable... Like I said too many variables. So please don't talk to me about thinking that PR is just guns that shoot better/more effectively I never said that at all.

Please don't get me wrong but if you want a realistic game like you said then mabye they don't need to improve on gameplay/performence just yet... After all this is just one idea.

It seems you are trying to find a RL example, and then you'll state look this is in RL, it should be in PR. But because something happens once in decades in RL, doesn't make it a good reason to open a floodgate of smacktardery. I can tell you now I know that the Bravo two zero SAS group carjacked a civilian taxi in the first Iraq war though, and save you time searching.

If this is brought in the game it will be done all the time, yet in RL it would only happen once in a decade perhaps. It's not worth it.

As far as i'm concerned the overwhelming reason to allow the enemy to use ur vehicles/mounted weaponry is that it will make ppl take care of their jeeps!!! too many ppl just leave em lyin around.

Like baseraping makes people stay and defend their first flag all round? I think not

This has been discussed many times over. For a variety of reasons, mentioned here and in other discussions, it is not going to happen.
