Cmon, GLs should still be resupplied, its not like they use ammo in the size of a rocket...nicoliani wrote:How I understood it HAT and G Launchers will not be resupplied from RP.

Argh, you ll have to put more cars or repair veichles. I think that a better idea and more realistic would be that the crewman can repair the tank or apc to half of its energie. So lets say he can do some along the road repairs but for full repair he needs an engenier.AfterDune wrote:What happens now is; one-man tanks go into battle and when they take a hit, they just drive a bit back, repair and do another hit-and-run.
How realistic is it to "just pull back and repair an entire tank"? It's not. Requiring an engineer to fix your tank, requires you to work as a team. Just as a commander needs engineers to build stuff, tanks NEED engineers close to them.

Spec Ops - no changes in this patch, expect alot of changes in v0.7
RP giving ammo - gives ammo to ANY infantry weapon/item. in BF2 there is no way to differentiate ammo (like in 1942). So you can rearm HAT, grenades, field dressing, etc. This was in v0.6 beta and v0.5, it was a bug that was introduced in 609 which will be corrected. The RP is a vulnerable thing, so firing from its position is not always the wisest idea. We want to maintain that the RP is a squads lifeline, so going back to it for rearming and regrouping is an important aspect we want to keep.
ETA - probably September, its done its just awaiting someone vital to package it all up.
Apache - will be in the 32 player version of Kashan, as USMC have borrowed some from the Army/Brits

The RP thing, very bad news. There will be to much AT, tank spam. Wise not wise. There is no way in controlling those players. And I don't see any problems now when RP don't give ammo, so why not continue how it is? Ammo is not a priority for most of the players. Besides there are many many ammo supplies.
No more excitement when running out of ammo.

Wow... i welcome the ammo giving RP and I think its right when said that RPs are something to be coveted and protected... If someone is constantly coming back with mroe ammo, then go and get their rally point.nicoliani wrote:The RP thing, very bad news. There will be to much AT, tank spam. Wise not wise. besides, its already hard enough to get the H-AT kit as it is, at least let them have the ability to rearm it at their RP...

The problem with this is when you run out of H-AT you lay low and wait some min before you can change kit. Now when a tank or chopper gets spotted you will probably get two H-AT from the team, they will probably take out the tank, reload and keep their kit. So it will be more likely that infantries will get targeted by H-AT as they sure not will use the pistol on them.

Then tough cookies for the H-AT soldier that wastes his two rounds on infantry and then needs the ammo for a tank further down the road, when his RP is 300 meters back in the other direction.nicoliani wrote:The problem with this is when you run out of H-AT you lay low and wait some min before you can change kit. You arent going to sit by your RP... youre going to be on the move. From my experience, and Im sure a lot of others experience, the longer you stay at your RP, the less its location will remain a secret. If I get taken out by an H-AT round and it gives away the position of an enemy RP, Im all for it. let my squad take it out and I'll respawn with them in 30 seconds.
Now, if the SL gave unlimited access to ammo, thatd be a totally dif. story.

I think they should balance this out by restricting spawning on the sl to only be available to those who actually wear the officer kit. Im not sure thats possible though
Is the apache a pr model, is that why its being phased in.
Its been said before that all ammo counts as the same, theres 1 ammo type for players and 1 for vehicles and that is the only distinction. ie hardcoded, etc
Also you cant allow for partial repairs, either you can repair the vehicle or you cant
I suppose since crewman was always slower they could just slow it down to stupid levels. An affective aproximation of a partial repair would be imposing a RL 1 hour time for full repair of a tank?

Ok, you've said your piece, the devs will NOT change it now so lay off, ok.nicoliani wrote:The problem with this is when you run out of H-AT you lay low and wait some min before you can change kit. DL the patch when it comes and see how it works out.
You know, it could turn out you are right and maybe the devs will see "the light" and change it at a later date.
Project Reality is a Work In Progress and nothing is set in stone.
Who knows, you might actually come to like the RPs now.

in the field thou they can only do a limmited amount of repairs in r/l, and its very unrealistic to be hit by a tank shell, reverse behind a sand dune, jump out and for them to start reparing it back to full hp.agentscar wrote:Well,I'm kinda hoping that the wrench won't be taken away from the crewman kit, because in real life, crewman are responsible for repairing their own vehicles, with engineer help at base.Having to wait for an engineer is kinda....ehh...but it's ok.
We may include some type of main base repair station or something in the future for some maps aswell.
