The reality is, you can reload an M1 Garand, pull back on the chock and disengage the magazine catch for it to pop out and it is done.
Another Call of Duty 2 misconception is that the British used the M1 Garand, they used the M1 Carbine in Market Garden and fielded the Thompson in numerous forms from 1941 onwards.

That is the first weapon designated L22A1, the weapon was never adopted so the MODs designation was void. When the SA80 AFV (L85 AFV) came along it adopted the L22A2 designation and it is to be issued to specific soldiers in the Army.
