mags:full of tracer rounds.
If u have served in military or read stuff about it you should know. There are sometimes seperate clips, one without tracers, the other full of only tracer rounds.
I am suggesting to give officer and support kits another mag, which fires only tracer rounds,to show enemys possible locations.
This will be also useful for CAS aircraft,(LBs,Minds,A-10s).
I think its easy to implement also, you'll create 2 seperate rifles/mgs for that kit like you did in shotguns.
Hell you can even make hit effects similair but smaller than rocket explosions(for better visibility). You can even make these rounds non-lethal(i've rea somewhere that tracer rounds are not accurate, this non-lethalfeature will represent this).
P.S:I was in a hrry, sry for bad english and typos...

One of the biggest pet peeves I've had with PR is the rifles firing tracer rounds. We seldom, if ever, loaded tracer rounds in our mags. The old trick of loading your last round as a tracer to remind you to swap mags worked both ways. Timmy soon learns that the bright glowing arrow pointing at your location is where some twit sits with an empty rifle. Not good.

easy to abuse kruder: it effectively gives you 60 rounds ready, dont have to reload.
but I do agree, its a more realistic approach to tracers in a rifle magazine. however this was discussed a while back and what we have right now is kind of a compromise. I too would prefer less tracers in the rifle mags but for now it stays...

Or we could always go back to 0.4 laser M4s?

And you are getting this experience from where and when? Not calling you a liar, but in Iraq we had 3 high, 3 low, and every 5. PL had a full tracer mag for marking targets, though he never had to use it.
Tracer rounds are just as deadly as non-tracer.
Our MG's never carried a full tracer loadout. They come pre-linked with every other 5.

Granted, my unit was more involved with recce/overwatch and we tended to move only at night.

You got it wrong way,i didnt say remove tracers from regular magzs.Everything stays the same way, only officer and/or support kits get another mag of tracer only rounds.I suggested creating a seperate tracer only mag.[R-DEV]fuzzhead wrote:easy to abuse kruder: it effectively gives you 60 rounds ready, dont have to reload.

in 2142 they have this dual loading thing with the shotgun/rocket attachment, where if u fire a rocket then switch to shottie you're one round down, b/c you already used it, ie they use the same ammo
is this possible in bf2?
is this possible in bf2?

what the man was saying is that once your nontracer "gun" empties a clip, you could just switch to the next one.Kruder wrote:You got it wrong way,i didnt say remove tracers from regular magzs.Everything stays the same way, only officer and/or support kits get another mag of tracer only rounds.I suggested creating a seperate tracer only mag.

and by your workaround... why would you want to shoot NONlethal tracers at an enemy position and waste all that effort JUST to get your squad to shoot their too, when really, you could start shooting, and they could follow your already existing tracers to the target.(i dont care about IRL in this situation, i just think its foolish in PR to shoot nonlethal rounds at a target to designate it for a swuad when you could be shooting killing rounds) Once someone starts shooting in PR, I can follow their barrel and add in my weapon to the assault.
Shooting non lethal rounds at an enemy is dumb in my opinion...
Anyway, i dont think its important, especially since the "two guns" workaround could and would be totally abused for the 60 at-the-ready clips/mags/bullet holders.
