Naughty civilians
In PR some civilians ask to get caught by coming too close, but others seem hell bent in getting shot.
I'm using the APC turret to suppress some guys on a hill, not shooting close enough to kill incase there is a civilian, but close enough to make them think twice.
Then crazed civvie gets up on the hill; in my mind i go"damn greenshit, better not shoot him" then the civilian goes and runs around like he's chasing my tracer fire!!!! suicide by soldier?!
I've seen it a few times where civilians just charge in to tracer fire to piss off the brits/americans. However there is no penalty for their death to them at all, perhaps somthing should be done to them?
they cant spawn civilian for 2mins?

uk/usa need to hold fire, do not fire into blind cover and do not shoot without a target.
OR
Killing civvies doesnt lose you tickets, fire at will. As commander i have taken that position when caches were mostly visible, as the insurgents gaining 10 tickets? So what? Yea, spawntimes hurt but we only have 2 caches to get and getting spotted is problematic, but if you have 1 guy do all the civvy killing? like an apc gunner, especially if he doesnt die.

I've had trained soldiers running into my LOF on full auto platoon attack ranges. You scream at them but amongst all the firing, shouts and adrenalin rushes some people don't seem to notice what they are running into.
Civilians without any training that get caught up in a mass hysteria situation might lose their full on vision and run around stupidly, stampeding anyone in their way, running into solid objects and worse.
Some civilians think that it is their job to protect forces by getting in the way of fire and assuming western troops will not fire on them.
Anyone who has studied situations in northern ireland will have come across many counts of civilians massing causing trouble, then when brit forces turn up, a whistle or horn blows, the civilians part, shots are fired at brit troops and then the civilians close ranks preventing brit forces firing.
By attempting to penalise civilians in the game, you remove any possible real world actions by them. If it seems a touch unfair in one situation, there are half a dozen where the current system benefits the gaming.

Actually, this is semi-realistic. I don't want to get all political 'n stuff, but I think that we can take it as a fact that the Insurgents (whatever organization they represent) like using Public Relations, sometimes faking deaths, or trying to make incidents look way worse than they were. So I dunno, they don't appear to be that naughty...could be a new type of suicide-bomber, for the media this time?

remember guys, if you are insurgents and you see a lone civvie ahead of you about to get stabbed, just shoot him yourself! one ticket loss is better than ten to the enemy
(imagine the civvie is about to grass up your insurgent group, give the location of your weapons caches away. you're gonna shoot him aren't you!)

You kinda hope the guy isn't a moron and goes for the instant punish. Usually the civvies closer to you anyway so you can spray and pray and usually get away with it.
Please don't say shit like this when you don't know what these situations are really like. Have a bit of humility when your talking about something your not overly familiar with.FoW_Strummer wrote:The same kind of civilians that strap on bomb belts to themselves and hop on buses..

I know that it's a dirty trick, but I can't help it.
yes, that is a very dirty tactic and anyone using it in my squad will be kicked immediately. that tactic is total BS and akin to the H-AT reload glitch in .5. stop doing it!

another thing about civi suicides...
i guess it could be realistic to have 'em be able to do themselves in, but it shouldnt be as easy as it is now. perhaps the civis can get another item to carry that's a cyanide pill or something. as it is now, i think it's BS.
