Problem there would be the lock isnt variable so surely a littlebird would lose its lock more easily then a great big A10.
They are allready weak enough I reckon, next time you see a pilot take off in one, time how long he lasts. Most pilots cant survive more then 5 mins

You can see this on kuffah oilfield, the heli doesnt respawn. Its really rare to see it any time but at the game start.
Thats a concequence of view distance which is about 500m on this map, they are cannon fodder

Nah, not if you fly them well. I've kept one up for nearly an entire round, until I landed too hard and hit a pipe, which caused it to make a frontal flip >_<

i think the little birds are fine... and i think when u hit them with an apc switch to HE rounds.. whenever i do that on Jabal i take down blackhawks easy..

Somehow the Blackhawk is faster than the LB :/

firstly , LB are not used in usual combat because they are weak and can be easily destryoed by enemy fire (that incluy AA missils from hacovs AND sa7s) .

so yeah, make LB lockable .

Heres a test video. Shows death from 80 bullets or a 2 second burst of the support gun

Stray bullets will very often hit the pilot, as the cockpit is not enclosed. i often find myself getting hit by 1 or 2 rounds, starting to bleed just as I start descending on the helipad.

the little bird took alot more fire than that and didn't go down.

I had a marksmans kit and was trying to pick him out of the cockpit once, he was hovering close to me and I had a clear shot at him, and couldnt take him out(took 6-7 shots).....and I had 12+ kills already with that gun, so it's not like I'm a horrible shot.

Every heli in the video blew up apart from the (bigger) blackhawk which took 2 minutes of support gun fire to blow up so I didnt show that to the end, it is tougher then the LB.

You wont get a precise shot on the LB, try with a support gun next time.
There is your aim + the movement of the chopper + lag and hitboxes to consider so that is the wrong gun to use.

edit:
Unless by your comment you mean when you tried it wasnt this easy? Yes it will take longer for the 3 reasons I mentioned above, alot of the bullets will miss. You can double the times taken there, thats still about 4 seconds to down a LB with a support gun and its equally hard for him to hit you.
The LB miniguns have pistol splash damage to them

I always fly at altitude, you wont easily hit because of the bullet travels too slowly to be precise
