[Question] How hard is modelling weapons for BF2?
Could someone tell me how hard it would be to make a model of a weapon? To be specific the Browning High power pistol. I'm asking because i thought i could contribute something to the Mod and my favorite faction the Insurgents.

To tell you the truth, before it was bluntly pointed out to me, I also did not know the L9 was the BHP.
But, it is.

The Browning L9A1 is a semi-automatic pistol, firing a 9×19 mm cartridge from a 13-round magazine. It has been the standard sidearm of the British Army since 1957, succeeding the Enfield No 2 Mk I revolver. The weapon is a variant of the Browning Hi-Power

I haven't seen any Iraq videos of insurgents with golden AK's though...

I believe BHPs were very popular with the Iraqi armed forces before the 2003, so there are probubly quite a few floating around in Iraq.[R-MOD]Wasteland wrote:I haven't seen any Iraq videos of insurgents with golden AK's though...![]()
Oh, and to be more specific, I should probubly point out that its the British Officer/H-At/Pilot pistol. SF carry SIG P226s.
Anyway, it'd definetly be more realistic than the MR-444 they currently have (well, maybe the insurgent officer could keep that as he's supposed to be an embeded SF operator).
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

Forgot to answer that bit in all my excitement over adding some useless info to the thread.DavidP wrote:Allright part 2.

It's not really very hard, as soon as you know the basics, but it's very time-consuming.
To start with, have a go at this tutorial: http://tutorials.moddb.com/16/beretta-9 ... -tutorial/
It's got all the basics and is a good starting point IMO. From there on it's very much a matter of trying and failing and learning stuff along the way (I still do).
And good reference pictures help. For those, try this site: http://www.imagestation.com/members/DeicideNBF
As for the actual modelling of an HK33 - which I think is a really cool rifle - just have a go at it and see. HK weapons are - again, in my opinion - fairly decent to start with, as they've got some fairly simple bits, some basic shapes, and some harder bits that are good for experimenting.
And if there is anything, don't be afraid of asking. Oh, and have a look at http://www.bfeditor.org/ .
More guns and bullets make bad guys go away faster,
which in turn makes everyone in the area safer.
