Minor change to MEC/PLAequipment

Just a minor annoyance to the reality of the game that hasn't yet been changed since the days of vBF2. No self respecting Middle Eastern congomerate or Chinese military branch would use the American M67. We already have the Russian RGD-5 hand grenade for the militia, which would fit much better and would really be nothing more than a minor change.

On a side note, the Russian mod PR offshoot has modeled and skinned a Zarya-2 stun grenade so it may make sense to replace the current flashbangs used by the MEC and PLA with this new model.

Like I said, just a minor change for the issue of realism.


On a quick aside, would it make sense to give the coughing LSD effect to anybody closer than 5 feet to the flashbang when it detonates? It might make them a little more useful if they land close enough to the enemy.

PLA dont use the rgd-5 granade , MEC can , since its fictional .

RGD-5 is a better match than the M67. I currently don't know what the Chinese use, I just assumed they would use the RDG-5 since just about every Eastern military uses it.

Edit: I stand corrected, the PLA uses the Type 86.

yeah that would be good.

I also think the grenades should have a MUCH longer throw. IRL, you can throw a nade about 40 meters. thats half the length of a football field. Right now it is about half that.

It would also force people to adjust the force of their throw like IRL using right mouse.

yeah, but a lot of things are low priority right now. this is something that needs to be fixed, and can be fixed. easily. all we have to do is swap out nades for MEC, and maybe do a reskin for china in the future.

Yup, the flashbang thing seems reasonable though. I do reckon that if it doesn't take too much time it'd be better to use the RDG-5 for China and MEC in the mean time though, just solely for some differentiation between a team 1 and team 2 grenade if you will.

Is that flashbang been used actually used in real life by the US and UK and such? Seems a bit... flashy :p

Unless you're a class cricket player, wouldn't that be innaccurate at that range?

Do correct if soldiers can throw grenades accurately at that range, I always sucked at cricket.

Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades as the saying goes. Accuracy with hand grenades isn't as necessary as chucking that thing in the enemies general direction. With that said, I would appreciate not having to do a sprinting jump to throw a grenade at a target beyond 2 feet.

Of course grenades for each faction are low priority, they don't effect gameplay. Also, throwing grenades at football field length in vBF2 meters? Like that's going to happen...

you didn't read my post correctly.

i said IRL, the average soldier throws a grenade about 40 meters, which is HALF THE LENGTH of a football field.

RIGHT NOW in PR, the distance is about HALF THAT, as in a QUARTER of a football field.

and BF2 meters doesn't matter, just make them throw it 30 of those for realism. i hate how you can only chuck a grenade like a child in this game, and that the fuse is about two seconds shorter than in rl.

TBH, Grenade skins are quite low priority considering the more important thing the PLA should have in game:

07 Woodland uniforms (preferably pine pattern)
QBZ95/QBZ03 for spec ops (pla spec ops DO NOT use the QBZ95B)
North-Benz 2629A Commander truck
ZTZ99
JS 7.62 Sniper
QBB95 Sight fix
There are a lot more low priority stuff to be named, but those are small but annoying detail stuff.

IMO, between MEC and PLA, PLA needs a lot more fixing because it is an actual army whereas the MEC is a fictional faction and could have whatever equipment the developers wish for.

Bit of curiosity, but why not German frags at that rate?

I'm no military expert but I think it's kinda weird they have Russian tanks, pistols, light AT, knives (AK bayonet), Grenadier weapons, APC's, etc. but German rifles. Is this how it is in many armies?

yeah , fals are waaaay better than g3s , but they already make model of the g3 (with optics ,gl,etc) and i dont think that they are gonna fix that "mistake"
