Idea 1: make the airbrakes actually work. easier to slow down

Idea 2: aircraft carrier overhaul. make the aircraft carriers bigger with diagonal landing decks, and with catapults. aircraft start out on 4 different catapults. you get in, and in 10 seconds, your aircraft will be propelled at 200 MPH off the carrier. when you are landing, the landing gear will deploy, and an arresting hook will deploy. if you land on one of the 4 cables laid out across the deck, it will stop you towards the end of the runway.

Idea 3: make it so all airports have 5 planes. 2 strike aircraft which are 2 seater aircraft (a pilot, and a weapons officer), 2 air superiority aircraft, and an attack jet

Idea 4: in the strike aircraft, make it so that when you press "L", a laser will turn on, and it will stay where you point it because of an inertial guidence system in the targeting pod. when the weapons officer releases the bomb, the bomb will land where the laser is pointed.

Idea 5: figure out a way so that the jobs of the weapons officer and pilot can be done by one guy

Idea 6: Put Infrared sights on the chain gun sight on the attack helicopter

Idea 7: have VOIP so that the different people in the aircraft can use VOIP to talk to eachother

Idea 8: aircraft become commander assets. the commander can issue orders to the aircraft just like a squad

Idea 9: squad leaders can request JDAM strikes on targets by strike aircraft. a request will go to the commander, and the request will be relayed to the aircraft where the requested target will look like a target for a missile

so, those are my ideas for aircraft

much of what you said isn't possible and i believe that the carriers are being worked on,

all good ideas but not for this game , bf2 engine has a lot of problems with vehicles over vehicles , etc.

and carriers will requere new models , codes , textures , engine :P , etc .

1.) I think you underestimate the momentum of a supersonic aircraft.

2.) Catapults are not possible and I think you underestimate how much work is involved in creating a static that large.

3.) I've always wanted to see 2 seater aircraft make a return, but 5 jets with a total of 7 pilots and 32 people waiting at each airfield doing nothing useful for the team isn't a good idea. Until the limitation of 64 players is ever overcome, this idea is best left on ice.

4.) Not possible the way you described it.

5.) Not quite sure what you are driving at, make 2 seater aircraft piloted by one person? Not a good idea as it reduces teamwork.

6.) Not possible, you already have a black and white camera to simulate the effect so what more do you want?

7.) They have to be in the same squad otherwise this isn't possible.

8.) Not possible.

9.) No comment.

IR is. Just retexture everything so that in IR it appears as it really would (like night vision - from what I know that has different textures than normal vision -do the same thing with IR).

i like idea 3 ALOT chances are you won't have 7 pilots waiting for aircraft in the same way you don't have 8 crewmen waiting for tanks at the main base more aircraft will add lots of new improvements to the game AIR superiority should be earned and fought for in PR

as it is now aircraft and helicopters are destroyed longer than they are airborne which means that usually they'll bomb away at ground targets without ever worrying if someone is at their 6

and double the amount of heavy attack choppers to maps

IDEA 10: 4-5 aircraft per airfield in the same way there are 4-5 tanks at a main base

this opens up lots of new possibilities in PR not to mention cut down on the team killing for that 1 single precious aircraft
Or better yet, get rid of jets altogether; they don't fit well within this game.

sorry misread original post

no they don't fit well at all on small maps at least giant maps work well with jets, if possible can the gulf of oman be expanded with 1 US ship close to the shore for dropping boats and APCs little bird helicopters and another US ship much farther for aircraft?

No, no, no, and no. I will personally stop playing PR if air assets are removed. Flying is one of the most fun aspects of the game, if you have what it takes.

It'll be worth 10 dollars before long, then we can do all that directX 10/120 player servers/dynamic physics engine stuff they probably hardcoded out so no modder could show BF2 up for the shoddy game it was. :p

All those jets are a bit much though, until we get 20x20km maps that much air support is a little OTT.

Agreed don't need them don't want them. replace them with a commander ability called air strike works like arty call it in and booms full from the sky onto the target HEEHAHAAHah.

i think i would prefer to see the amount of aircraft reduced and more time spent on other elements of the game. There is so much better stuff that could be worked on.
