light at, i cant honestly think why that kit would be my first choice.

Limited, so i cant perform weight of fire (a whole Light AT Squad), only able to blow up cars (sure a few rockets can smoke an apc, but heavy AT doesnt let it retreat).

And, i dont even care about blowing up cars, i'd rather have them idle in the open where they are less useful.

So, i cant target infantary, cant take out helis, or tanks or apcs.

So, i have a gun... riflemen have guns, scopes, grenades, even a shovel.

In short? Light AT while it might be "limited" in warzones shouldnt be useless, either give it more splash and turn it into a squadbreaker weapon, or boost its accuracy, because its bloody aweful.

I thought the AT4 weapon was more for penetrating armour as the name AT suggests not so sure whether it has that much splash damage but it sure does have alot of bullet drop over longer range making it difficult to shoot targets like 300m away.

2shots to the rear of an APC/AAV will kill it.
They are LIGHT anti tank and take out LIGHT armour, as it's what they are designed for. To use them against some serious enemy armour wouldn't be a worthy investment.

it works pretty well against apc's and it's good for taking out cars. Though with cars you pretty much always have to shoot at a moving target.

But i love the sound when it blows something up and the smoke trail it somehow just feels better to blow something up with LAT than HAT don't know why though. And yes its extremely good for killing cars !

Sometimes light AT can be used to decent effect against heavy armor. Of course it cannot really be used with the intention of damaging it, but I have had my squad fire on tanks with light AT in order to distract the tanker from killing other infantry. If a tank is suppressing infantry, you can sometimes break free if you fire on the tank from the rear. One-man tanks are especially vulnerable to this type of distraction because often they will switch seats to reposition themselves slightly. So you get the gunner looking in the wrong direction, and maybe you can even get an engineer close enough to mine the tank.

i'm sorry, but the speed of light at is slow, the drop is heavy and the damage is pathetic, 2 shots to take out an apc... How the hell do you manage that? sure a solo apc who has no engiee support and no cover.

I will atcept that if the light at guys team up wit the heavy at guys and the light AT guys fire first (from different locations) the tank wont pose a riskto the HAT but is that worthy or a purpose? and 1 bloody rocket? and seemingly a whole ammo bag to get it back?

Although, i've not played .61 much and rally point ammo bags will mean riflemen have more ammo and hell, even humpin gthe RP for ammo isnt too bad.

But of all the kits? L-AT is the most useless, when i wana kill an apc and the hat is taken? i go engiee get up close and slip a mine under that thing, add a C4 for good measure.

I dunno, i am a pretty long time APC driver, and i keep hulldown when i can and move carefully, when i see a L-AT miss me because of obscene drop? then even with a rifleman for ammo have to wait an age to fire again?

But, i very much know where he is from the trail, there is simply nothing menacing about the L-AT to a conservative APC, but i feel like their should be.

Power is fine, but at least make it more accurate, or do they suck this badly in real life too?

Just remember not to go prone when you are about to fire any light AT weapons, it will be horribly inaccurate. Best is crouching.

Crouch and Prone makes a difference when firing LAT? Didnt know that and i always thought proning makes it more accurate in bf2 but IRL ppl fire crouching all the time.

LAT is fun when on a map with no vehicles..... :evil:

I think the kit is fine, its like medic: its main role only happens in certain situations- but until then you have a rifle for personal defence.

I think, its damage against jeeps should be increased. I know I shot an AT4 into the front of a Vodnik on Ejod and the guy just drove over me in a ditch, jumped out unharmed and after a short while, the bloody jeep finally explodes.

Yes, it does. Take the AT-4 for example, the MOA values:
Standing - 22.5
Crouched - 13.5
Prone - 180 Extreme Deviation
So, the bigger the number, the less accurate. THe smaller the number, the more accurate it is.

It is actually very easy to shoot targets at ~300m away. The problem is knowing that the target is at that distance. With the LAT weapons there are one or more points on the reticle/sight which are zeroed to a particular range. It just so happens that if you lift the "I" part of the AT-4's sight by its own height, over the target, then it will be zeroed to 100m. Wash and repeat up to ranges of ~500m.

BTW youm0nt, I must check to see if any of those values have been changed with the new new patch.

IMO LAT should be more dangerous against APCs , there is no way that a LAv25 can surviva one hit of a rpg7 in the back , it should be inmediatly destroyed , same for all the APC* ingame , they are designed to protec the inf from small fire NOT for LATs


*warrior is not an apc , its a IFV , and IRL it has more armor , but still, a hit in the back will kill the crew , represented ingame by blowing the IFV.

In my opinion, the best "fix" for the "Rifleman AT" kit is to make it a "Rifleman AT" kit. That is, he has the following kit items:

Knife
Scoped Assault Rifle
2 Frags
1 Smoke
1 L-AT Weapon
Body Armour
Bandage

I think LAT was nerfed b/c it was a regular kit and then when kit limiting came they just took a nerfed kit and made it requestable.

plz un-nerf it. i loved lat, now i think its near useless when u can just go heavy, or go spec ops or engie.

I think adding the scoped rifle to the LAT kit would be the best change, make his first role infantry fighting, with the LAT his secondary weapon.

Comparing it to other ironsight kits, such as the medic, the one LAT rocket takes place of the Defribs and the medic bag, an extra smoke and 2 extra field dressings. Engineer's have c4, mines, a wrench, the shovel and occasionally the grappling hook too. All the LAT has is one rocket and a smoke.

With crewmans not being able to repair the APC, you will find it easier to take it out with LATs. And its the best choice for taking out rally points or bunkers, firebasses cars etc (not counting HAT).

Also you can use it like "mortars". On Ghost Train I stood next to a bunker on one side of the bridge and kept shooting rockets to the other side. Got about 10 kills without ever seeing anyone.

But scope would be nice though.
