Tanks - driver, gunner or machinegunner?

Post by Farks »

So, what do you prefer?

I prefer beeing the driver. Mostly because most players don't even know the basics of tank driving... And good driving is just as important as good communication.

I quite like been on the top as an engineer, hopping out and scouting ahead now and then, plus I love the .50cal even though it's pretty useless in comparison to the turret mounted .7.62 .

Driving is my preference.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

They all can be fun if your crew gets along and doesn't scream on the microphone like a freaking football coach

I just did.

Fail one day, he will.

I drive all the time. Mostly, because I can't get good drivers and to leave the killing to someone else :D

Driver. You can put someone into the position to kill so it saves your ***. Whereas if you're the gunner and your driver sucks, it just isn't enjoyable.

The opposite is true as well. There's nothing like having a gunner that wastes sabot on infantry and can't hit a tank at 200m with full zoom.

Personally I prefer to gun. Driving is ok but I always feel responsible if we die and it can get a bit boring sometimes.
Thanks luizinhuu for the find

I like playing as the gunner and being tank commander at the same time.

"Move forward to the intersection and stop"

"Alright, turn left, go about 20 meters and face north"

When I have a good driver and this works, such as in the PR tourny: devastating.

I consider myself a 'lethal-B' with 50calz in PR.
Managed to get 4 kills over 350 from top of an Abrams with the 50, on EJOd last night :)

Driver, I'm self reliant person - I hate it when my driver goes over mines that I clearly see when I gun so I prefer to always drive.

I prefer gunning. If you get a good driver, you can concentrate entirely on gunning while your driver drives and maintains situational awareness. Nothing like zooming all the way in on an enemy tank, attempting to keep the reticle on him, and firing a split second after the driver stops.

Of course, a lot of the time you have to worry about driving your driver, so to speak, and you also have to look around for him.

Is there a way to toggle crouch in the gun? I usually travel crouched in the 50cal to prevent dieing from splash damage, but it hurts my finger!
