Squad leader assets!

Post by supahpingi »

How about squad leader assets!
wich would be heavy weapons like mortars,TOW,or 50.cal machine guns wich u can deploy to defend areas!
the SL need it more then commanders and they are only squad support!
only let him deploy 1 or 2 at a time and then he has to delete them somehow.
below are some exemples of what i mean.

Off course this are only examples and every armie would need its own!

I dont think it would work. here are my reasons-

1-A squad is like a fireteam size.
2-People would spam
3-Make a it a kit

Just in my mind it would not work.

I like the idea of the HMG but I think the TOW would be a bit too powerful; it'd make tankers think more that's for sure but with a max of 9 squads that's 9 H-AT platforms positioned over the map, a little too much IMO.

NSV for the MEC, don't know what the Chinese use, maybe a Type 85/Type 77.

Don't know about mortars, would have to see what the devs come up with re; arty.

The suggestion is similar to one made a while ago about kits that can deploy HMGs. The reason for which it was turned down, as I remember, was because there already are HMMVW and equivalents with MGs and such on top.
Although the mortar idea doesn't really sound bad.
A squad leader with an Officer Kit could deploy it and to use it, you would need a certain type of kit, hence teamwork.

Yes, but from what we saw in the Open Beta, one man was carrying the whole deal.

Nah, the Commander is deploying it as an asset.

Now I wish SL's could make sandbag walls...

The only problem is with the commander stuff there's actually a source of building materials, which there wouldn't be for a squad leader.

Perhaps if you could somehow make it so you could build near a supply drop (or commander truck) that might be reasonable, or have something ridiculous like having kits for certain emplacements. If you had it so you had to pick up a 50. cal or TOW or whatever then have the option to put it down like a rally point or something then you can build an emplacement within a certain radius of the parts for it. Only problem with that would be their original kit disappearing, unless there was some way of coding it so the kits you get to get parts for emplacements have the option of getting back their original kit for a RP, bunker, etc. The whole thing would be a little over the top but would make more sense then a squad leader pulling one out his arse.

I've heard sandbags are pretty much an alternative to trenches since they can't be made in game due to the engine, so I guess they could be justified when it comes to this kinda thing.

sandbag wals are ingame but only as commander assets!
The squad leader should be able to build them 2 cuz its only a couple of bags wich can be filled with sand from right beneath his feet. And it would give the rifleman another task in the squad cuz the rifleman(especially the US)isnt used very much currently.

Assets such as those should be under the commander's control.

There's enough jumping into squads long enough to grab specialised kit then jumping out to go lone-wolfing as it is.

sandbags should be in SL control.
a squad cant be at 2 places at the time while ur team somethimes need to defend 2 or more places so a single squad could use them!
