Helmand Province? Love it or Hate it
Any idea if any new changes will be in the works for Helmand Province? This map is by far one of the most underrated maps that can be made to be amazing with some new additions. From what Ive seen through footage of Helmand it is a mountainous region surrounding flat land fields and plains, ussualy many crops and such. Some more small villages would also break up the game play. Anyone have any suggestions or problems with the map how it is? I would love to see it played more and also with some new terrain. I am always seeing news coverage of British operations taking place in this region it would be a shame to let it fade away.

Well its a little bit of both. I am asking what others think of the map and what they feel can be changed, as well as throwing in my own 2 cents...Is my post really that hard to contemplate? Its an open discussion, not sure whats so confusing to you.epoch wrote:Your post seems to bear little relation to your post title ..... ?
Are you asking us what we think of the map, or are you telling the devs what they should do to it?![]()
I would like to see it be played in "insurgent mode" and hunt for caches rather than capturing flags.

^^^^I def agree with you , the map is a bit to small at the moment, add some more poppy fields lol, spread it out some more with buildings and ridges for cover.youm0nt wrote:The map was fun in 0.5 but in 0.6 the gameplay was bad, probably why some servers don't play it because it's not meant for 64 players. Insurgents don't stand a chance on that map, from what I've seen and played. It should be made bigger for 64 players

I don't hate it but never really liked it much, although I had one of my best games ever on it a few months ago, and I was NOT sniping and WAS on the UK team crawling my way up that blasted hill of death. Nothing like the satisfaction of knowing where the snipers hang and turning them boys onto some tasty blade action.

The best and most realistic PR experiences ever on that beautiful map and the only map that consistently seems to have amazing public squad play. Not only looks like the Afghanistan of combat videos, alot of the time it plays identically to that combat footage too which is incredible. If only it were bigger, had greater grass draw distance and had 10 times the view distance it currently has...maybe in the future

I think the map is amazing.
Those moments when your driving along in the land rover and an RPG just misses the front of your vehicle by inches and your squad starts yelling into their mics as the 50. cal opens up and the driver puts his foot down are just classic.
Got to agree with people wanting it bigger for 64 players though because the brit's can scank the insurgents at range.

This is one of the worst maps. Gameplay is akward, and with hardly any picups it's hard for Insurgents to really get anything done.
For a pre-planned game it might be fun but on a pub, it's dredgery.

I have, but that's only because I layed trap for them in the destructable building and took like 20 of them at once.

I really love that map, it looks great and plays great too. The insurgents do stand a fair chance as long as they don't attack head-one when they've lost a flag. Put a civilian out to report the Brit movement and ambush them from behind the berms, if the insurgents start running around in the open then they are easy pickings, let the fight come to you then move. As long as no one drives the cars straight in to whiskey you can have a great time in Helmand.
I don't play the 64 sized maps though, that might be a bit crouwded without room for manouvring. More maps like these would be greatly appriciated.
