You mean in WWI, both the Allied and German commanders were issuing rewards to their troops for digging as fast as possible? Hmm.. an interesting new theory on the development of trench warfare lol.Hx.Clavdivs wrote:I'm pretty sure that people would dig trenches 3 km long, 1,5 deep along the battlezone (or make assets) for 30 minutes straight - if rewared with unlocks like f.example Cobra with unlimited ammo, laser guided missiles or even better - a nuclear bomb - the next round. I can see it now - 32 engineers on both sides digging trenches all across the map.
Significance of a shovel?

Personally, I think the shovel and wrench should be able to be used in melee combat... with the appropriate sound effects.
With the size of that wrench, it'd do a fair amount of damage to an infantryman... and the shovel-in-the-face technique has gotta give swirl-o-vision for a while, even if it doesn't do that much damage
Then, am glad to announce, they WOULD be a one-piece entertainment/utility/melee weapon of hilarity....

i dont like things like this as they tend to be a bit cheesy, but i can understand if the engineer gets a melee shovel instead of a knife, or a miltia sqaud leader has a machete or a axe
