Its so I can make basements on Block Party or such. Dig a trench in the terrain, put a textured object like sidewalk over it, place the building on top. Brilliant!

IRT Solo: I hate you.

Back to maps anyways... **** i voted for 3, i wanted 2. I would love to see something like Desert Shield, just a masive, gigantic tank battle map, with some apcs too. before that map can be made well though, apcs need to be made to die in one shot ANYWHERE from a tank sabot round, as currently, apcs are stronger than tanks it seems, and thier speed and weapon variety makes them more useful in almost every situation... shouldn't be that strong.

anyways: definetely make a huge tank v tank map.

I was thinking of suggesting this. Not necessarily as a spawn point, but kind of a midway urban combat oasis. For people that have to ditch damaged vehicles to hide out and wait for a ride, or an ambush point. I think it would add a nice dynamic to the way the level plays. Try it out. If it doesn't work out so well then...

In my opinion a large tank battle would work well only with main base spawns in use. there should be some sort of high ground for the teams to battle it out for with a CP on top or in a villiage as stated below which would decrease a teams tickets when they arent in posession of the point.

What I really want to see would be a large tank battle with many many tanks and then have a few choppers on one side, with the other side being given AA vehicles. Say one chopper/AA vehicle for every 3 tanks a team posesses. Of course you'd need a lot of people but as an avid chopper pilot I would love to see this.

Presently we're looking at five American tanks and four LAVs, two Humvees and a (Blackhawk?!?) up against a fortified ridge with three HJ-8's on each flank and two T-80's with a few pre-dug tank slots. Not so much an armor-versus-armor battle, but assault guns and infantry against the fortification. The "village" has been sketched out as an olive grove and goat farm; two HJ-8s and two MGs defend it against the Americans. I'm having a bit of trouble, like I always do, with the high-end polish like adding fancy light effects and whatnot. If anyone could give me a hand with that, I'll finish up the trenches and spawns, run an auto-texturing program and send you the files.

What exactly is the problem? Its hard to help when one dont know.

Personally I'm having problems too with lighting. My valley insists on having pitch black selfshadowing (despite having tried many shadow intensity settings), plus the texture turns very dark. Stupid lightmaps, argh!!!

Personally, I'd love to see a jungle map. There aren't too many true jungle maps around (y'know, the wet, muddy, swampy ones with the thick, chest-high grass that you can crouch in for concealment), and I love the atmosphere when done right.

If you've played BFV, "Ho Chi Minh Trail" and "Cambodian Incursion" were decent jungle maps for just the amount of undergrowth, but if anyone's played the early versions of the BFV Point of Existence mod, there was a map called "Swamps of Sudan" that was a top-notch jungle map. It had it all: tall grass and lots of it, rough terrain that discouraged vehicle use, and control points that were scattered around, but well-within walking distance of each other. That last point in particular, along with the thickness of the jungle, made you paranoid about where the enemy would strike from, and stealth and patience were key to surviving.

For BF2, there was a map released in the Total Battlefield map pack 1 called "Mekong River". That's a nice jungle map too, although there seems to be too much of an emphasis on using vehicles to get around (as opposed to trekking through the jungle on foot) for my liking. Fun map though, and if a PRMM server would run it, that would make my day.

In conclusion, I like jungle maps. And that is the end of my novel.

I think Block Party would be cool...I tend to prefer small urban maps. Bonus points if you can work a helicopter into the works, like Karkland but with tighter streets, Little Birds (or Blackhawks) and Humvees.
Things have gone terribly awry.

I'd like to see a desert push map with hills, craters, sandbags, bunkers, mounds, etc. It would be a mix of tanks, apcs, infantry, and attack helo.

I'm making the jungle map, there's only one road and will only be light vehicles. I may have uncappable spawns with transport helos for the Light Infantry feel.

For the desert map gunships instead of the Black Hawks.

Al_RuQua would be a death sentence for helicopters. I might as well put you in a tinfoil kite.
