I know you guys did some overhauls on the sound in game, but did you guys add more stuff? Now that tanks are quieter i seem to be hearing more chirping of birds and ambient noise. So my question is, was there more sound added into the game?

Anyway, great update, cant wait for .7, and im gonna be enjoying this release alot.

Try pressing mouse2 in a humwee... And brakes in commander truck.
They were already there.

Not sure about the brakes sound, tho.

Can't remember I heard it before (at least not so loudly).
I don't really like it, 'cos sometimes it turns to "Pffffff" fest.

When you are in a tank and you get hit by another tank or Heavy AT you just dont hear the sound :cry:

I like that you can hear squad mates talking with voip when your in the apc. I thought it wasnt possible to change the cockpit sounds?

Not hearing tank shell impacts is actually a problem with the shell not being registered correctly and nothing to do with sound.

^Sweet devs editing each others posts! And teh Hummer sound has been there snice 0.5 release. Trust me I know it. Ill get a movie of it.

All they did is reduce engine noise for all vehicles. These supposed new sounds are existing but the engine idle, acceleration and decelleration sounds were too loud to hear them previously.

Nope, what we introduced was an increase sound obstruction when inside Tanks, APCs, Attack Helis and Jets. The problem was that it acts differently depending on what hardware you have so some people are not hearing anything.

Still, it already rocks and BF2 :P R is the best tactical teamwork game available (played vBF2, Armed Assault, Ofp, SWAT3/4, QuakeWars-Demo, so I've some comparison to judge from and make up my opinion :-D ).

i could have sworn that i heard new ambience sounds in certain maps... might have been my new Sennheizer headphones! :p
