reload sounds (sort of..)

Post by Hans Martin Slayer »

i've checked the list and did a search but it seems this hasn't been suggested yet.

what i'm thinking about as a nice atmospheric addition would add reload sounds like the one in the m1a1 where you hear someone shouting something (couldn't figure out what exactly that is.. :o ops :)

a feature like this could be added to more weapons.

e.g. for hmmvee MGs: there could be something like 'i've got to reload!' when the gunner has to reload (obviously.. ;-) )

or maybe in choppers when the hydras are empty, something like 'i'm out of ammo!'

and so on..

hope you get what i mean,
whatcha think?

It's "SABOT UP!"

But, for Humvees and such, it might put you at a disadvantage if the enemy can hear it too. In choppers, it would be nice to have, but is somewhat unnecessary, as pilot and gunner are already supposed to be communicating extensively.

yea that's right, but it would be cool though and not that unrealistic. also the other way round it could give YOU an advantage there wich would be a nice tactical enemy, especially for infantry.

good point there.

Right now, you can hear some other voices during combat like: "frag grenade!", "medic!", "smoking!" (and many others), those can also put you at some disadvantage if the enemy will hear it.
In my opinion, adding a couple of new voices will change gameplay in a good way.

As far as I know, there are sounds for when a player has to reload. Though, it's used in vBF2/PR. It might be useful in the jeeps because sometimes the driver doesn't know if the gunner is reloading or not. Can be a problem if the gunner doesn't have a microphone.
