[Weapon] Colt 1911 mk1 [WIP]

Post by Z-trooper »

I've been working on the good old colt from ww2.
Its been all over the world and since the insurgents are using good old ww2 russian equipment, I thought they'll maybe be able to use it.

OR.

I'm not 100% sure of the accuracy of movies, but in Black Hawk Down the two delta snipers uses the Colt instead of the M9.

anyways, if its able to be used - fine by me, if its not, then I understand.
It was the first real model I started on. Its far from perfect - and I have begon re-making stuff on it that I werent pleased with. I'd taken a long break from the model while I was getting more experinced with other models.

If its WWII, its an M1911A1 rather than an M1911.

Still, looks like a good start :-)
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Oh, just a warning, your lower picture is a diagram of an M1911, while the upper one appears to be a replica of an M1911A1, so you might end up with some sort of hybrid :S

Yea I know. I had trouble getting a front view of a colt, so I used that one to get the dimensions of the front in correct proportions to eachother, thats all. I just didnt remove it :/

Awesome man! But who would use it? I hope maybe Insurgents or US snipers/spec-ops?

The two Delta-Operators used a M9 in the movie. The Somali which killed one of the Dboys used the Colt.

@ Topic good work.

Thats true the somali in the red shirt had a 1911, but I'm pretty sure that I saw a 1911 on the US side. I could be wrong ;) but I think I'll test it out by watching it :)

EDIT
Just saw that part again, both delta's are using the 1911. and the delta with the M14 is clearly using the 1911 right after he uses a M16A2 and before that the other delta uses the 1911 to cover the back entrance. He also says "give me another pistol mag" and shortly after that his mate dies. Its not the M9 ;)
The movie could be wrong, but that I cant take responsibility for...

EDIT #2

s-a-weet! nice link man, that helps.
But atm I'm not working on it ;) cause I've been tasked with another weapon that has priority over this one since its going to be used and this might not.
IDF: IMI Negev Commando LMG.

An old project of mine, it has been standing still for quite some time (while I was doing the Negev for the IDF)

This is in fact my 2nd model ever made (started on)...

Image

Almost finished so if any faction could need it, they are welcome to contact me, but I'm beginning to doubt it unless the insurgents are looking for a pistol... ;)
