New idea for draw distance and snipers
First of I never play as sniper, I nearly always play rifleman.
I was just thinking about people complaining about the draw distance and being spotted while being in grass and small bushes.
Would it be possible to allow a person with a sniper kit to put down a hide, the same way a squad leader and commander can do with a RP and assets? Something like a lump of vegetation or a few rocks, the sniper could be spotted and killed inside the hide but the fact it is a solid structure it would render at longer draw distances.....kind of like a small shed that is full of windows if you can understand my point......
Something that can be only requested every 5 mins and you can only put one down at a time.....

Well, I think we're trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Obviously one pattern of camo is not going to work on every map, or even everywhere on any particular map. Instead of trying to add more 'stuff', is there any way we can make the sniper less noticeable? These guys are trained to dissappear using their environment, is there any way we can replicate this to some extent?

It is not a bad idea, generaly it is great, but there are couple of things that I worry about.dandred wrote:Would it be possible to allow a person with a sniper kit to put down a hide, the same way a squad leader and commander can do with a RP and assets? 1. Many experienced players will notice additional peace of grass/rocks/other_stuff in their view (especially when it wasn't there in previous rounds).
2. I assume that this "hide" will be bigger then soldiers model. It will make you a bigger target and easy to spot because of a bigger silhouette.
3. As you know most of things are not rendered at long distances, setting something like this (solid, rendered object) in an open terrain (deserts) is like turning on the flashlight in the dark for those who are trying to find you (after first shot).
4. Some players are using comrose to find an enemy when they can't see him, they just spam "enemy spotted" option and they hope to find some "red dots" on the minimap, no camouflage will help you in that situation.
RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!!!
Do not post stupid suggestions just because you had a bad round in PR

what about active camouflage i saw it on futureweapons, it liek makes you invisible. i know they use it in real life because the delta force guys had it in blackhawk down.
I don't think we need to be helping snipers any more.
first off helping them will only encourage teamkills and "race for the kit"
second why help a kit 2 people out of 64 will use when we can fix the riflemen and medic and help 62 people?
