Gulf Of Oman WAC - Flag Changes

Post by Meester »

Now personally Im against vanilla maps in PR, however that doesn't stop me from playing them.

It has occurred to me that in its current form, the positioning of its flags are pretty poor with about only 1/4 of the map used for ground combat while the surrounding landscape is not really used.

I suggest that the flags be moved around with for example one being placed between the two bodies of water (ponds?) in the top right, another being placed in the top left on the coastline road up there, another at the bridge leading down along the coast road. Another would be placed at the bottom right on the hills just above the coast road. The last new flag would be in the hills above the airbase. The airbase would be changed to be capturable and the middle of the urban area would become still be there (cannot remember the flags name).

Any other suggestions of where flags could be placed would be welcome.

I think that's generally the problem with most vanilla maps, love 'em but the way they're currently setup isn't good for PR.

I'd love to see more Vanilla maps remade to be honest. I don't get why people say they'll take up so much room, because as far as I'm aware a full map is only 80meg, and the file(s) to mod a Vanilla map are like 40meg or something. Any answers?

I use sides of the map, usually for setting rally points and while attacking Hotel

I would rather they'd just abandon the whole map instead of trying to mend it.
