Just out of curiosity, have you played the beta? Because I have been playing it alot in the past few days and im still not tired of shore.$kelet0r wrote:These threads fail
For one thing Crysis is primarily a singleplayer game with tacked on deathmatch multiplay and most gamers will have exhausted its potential in a month. A constantly and iteratively updating multiplayer only game tends to have a longer lifespan often measured in months/years. PR will continue on its merry way mostly unaffected over the longer term
Will crysis pull you away from PR?

PR naturly, I can't even believe I ever played vanilla BF2. Its about the players with teh right mindset, and the gameplay that comes with it. Plus the fact that the makers of it don't have a comercial thought behind the work they put in, wich is pretty great if you come to think of it.
The only other game that i play is of the Close Combat series (no5), so maybe I'm not the the average player though.
I'll be playing it untill i'll be playing it with myself only.

Let us not forget that Crisis is another EA product eh?
The hardware requirements are beyond me and I'm not about to upgrade for yet another "most anticipated game" (ever EA game seems to be a "most anticipated game") that is nothing but pretty pictures with little or no substance.
Far Cry 2 on the other hand (check out the promo footage on UTube)..won't replace PRM but if PRM were to go to that engine..OMG - you'd have a REAL SIMULATOR on your hands.

Crysis is an awesome game.
But wheres the "Im a person more than capable of playing multiple games" option?
I love PR and I love Crysis so far is pretty fun, not realistic, fun.
We'll see how SP for Crysis is...
But no, im not gonna leave one game for another, especially when Im already more than capable of playing more than one...

I came back to BF2
R from playing Armed Assault and was totally
put down by the "by-now-oldish" graphics of BF2. But after
2-3 games I was back in the mood and will stay for quite a while
I tried Crysis yesterday at a friends place. Impressive engine but
stupid game for multiplayer. Single player could be entertaining
though. The engine is awesome, looking forward to Crysis

gonna buy crysis becuase i like good storylines that you can really get into, i can sit for hours if it keeps me occupied with a good storyline.
PR is a different kind of game, i play it with my mates on TS and always have a laugh, so i'll be playing both tbh.

Crysis is a great game, although I can only judge by the beta. I just figured out I can play it on high (yay me) and get good performance. It is probally mainly the graphics that draw me in, though the game is fun in a Counter Strike kind of way. Sure I will play both Crysis and PR. Though I preordered it, and I seen EAs marketing scheme, PREORDER ME AND YOU GET AN EXCLUSIVE APC! Which really makes me upset with the direction they are taking it. Marketing 101 I guess.

A lot of that stuff is in crysis. Though Far Cry 2 is using the Dunia engine it is stunningly similar.'[R-CON wrote:DJJ-Terror;501389']Curently, for me only game that might compete to PR is far Cry 2
(as far as general feeling and reality goes).

i don't understand why you guys are so mad about.. okey they may just rush some products but i think crysis will be great and i know there is going to be a reality mod for it.. i agree that the multiplay isn't that great but hey they may make an other type of it like battlefield 2 has or pr.. who knows... and what can be better then a reality mod in a almost reality world

Comparing those two is like comparing bus with tram, yes they are both transportation vehicle, but with totally different approach. Crysis is much similar to Quake for me, completely unrealistic, but that is the whole point, it should be like that. Also the greater difference is single/multiplayer approach in developing those two games, like Terror already said. FarCry 2, on the other hand is closer to compare with PR - but again, mostly focus on singleplay purpose of enjoyment. I played FarCry in MP, and that totally downgrade the impression I had from SP of the very same game.
Last night I tried the Crysis MP beta - it is stunning (but only for visual performance) gameplay - that's the other story... PR had one huuuuge problem and that is BF2 engine and even in that environment you guys manage to made miracle... because it is perfect platform for quality team play and that is what I prefer.
Only if FarCry2 prove to have mentioned teamplay quality as PR - I'll switch (tell me who won't?)

I may play other games, maybe more, maybe less (well I play others now anyway) but PR will never go.
As for crysis, graphics are very nice, but I am not really interested in the rest. Far cry 2 looks quite awesome though.

Who says Farcry2 won't have a lame deathmatch style MP element like the first edition?
