Black Hawk improvement
Hey guys,
I've searched for a similar thread but no result. So i'll let it flow ...
IRL the Black Hawk has a Pilot in command and copilot. It would be nice to have a copilot in the helo which has a free-look ability and maybe a zoom function.
It'd be also nice to have a UH-60M Black Hawk for the US. Army, a MH-60L Direct Action Penetrator (DAP) also US. Army and a MH-60R Seahawk US. Navy
The UH-60M Black Hawk for standard US. Army deployments as a heavy transport helicopter.
The MH-60L Direct Action Penetrator (DAP) for special operations and critical operations from the US. Army (could be used especially on Kashan Desert).
The MH-60R Seahawk for standard US. Navy (USMC) deployments from the Wasp.
I know that someone has to model these versions but i'll try to model the
UH-60M first and then if the model is ok and it doesn't take too much time i could model the other versions.
IRL the pilot has to arm the Miniguns for the crewchiefs. I think that it should be the same for PR throug pushing the "R" button as a pilot.
What do you think about this suggestions?

I dont think we'll get many players to grab the pilot kit just to be a co-pilot. Its like with the Merlin. How many dedicated "bay door openers" are there out there today?MAINERROR wrote: IRL the Black Hawk has a Pilot in command and copilot. Hmm, a good idea in my opinion. It will get rid of those retards who randomly opens fire at friendly personel. Hopefully it can be done without too much of an effort from the Devs.MAINERROR wrote: IRL the pilot has to arm the Miniguns for the crewchiefs. Only from is theres little enough people on the field at the moment as it is, we don't need another one taken away from battle by forcing people to have co-pilots to do pretty menial tasks. I like the idea of having someone in control of when weapons systems are activated though, but could that responsibility not be placed on the pilot?

I normally have a copilot in little bird for gun runs. but the copilot seat should do much more cause in the little bird i get shot out of side by sniper and my copilot cant warm up engine in time while falling like when pilot seat becomes open copilot takes control or you can press something and switch who has control for when people go afk

lol well that just completely defies logic anyway. But I get you meaning it drifts a bit like it would in RL with a very strong wind but BF2 dose not simulate wind effects. SO it's just go a mind of it's own.

MH-60L DAP has been suggested before and is not going to happen. It's a very rare bird, and it wouldn't make much of a difference in gameplay, as, realistically, it would not be used as both a primary assault transport and a gunship at the same time because of weight constraints.
MH-60R: again, not much use for it. MH-60Rs will be deployed from carriers (CVNs) and escort vessels (frigates, destroyers, cruisers and the LCS), not the "gator freighters." Though it can carry Hellfire missiles, its primary role is anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare; there is only one type of boat in the game for it to shoot at. It is also not a primary assault-transport helicopter for the Navy and especially not the Marines, who do not operate H-60s except in the special air mission (transport of people in suits) role.
UH-60M visually isn't much different than other conventional aviation unit Blackhawks. We will likely end up using an existing model from one of our associated mods, but if you would like to model one, then please do so; we'd all like to see what you can do.
Having the pilot need to press a button to arm the miniguns is a step that isn't really conducive to gameplay. Should we have everyone request permission to fire or get rules of engagement from the player who is the commander, then? I can see having the miniguns not function or be inaccessible until the pilot is in the seat, though.
As for co-pilot position, which has also been suggested, I do not think it would be of much use on a transport helicopter, and adding an extra seat would be better served for an additional infantry passenger.

Though, it would stop people from randomly shooting the guns because of boredom during warmup phase/flight and possibly damaging friendly vehicles and so on... but you're right, if the pilot is a smacktard he wouldn't arm the miniguns at all...[R-DEV]Eddie Baker wrote: Having the pilot need to press a button to arm the miniguns is a step that isn't really conducive to gameplay.
