I know you've heard this various times,but the Community is asking me...Well,one thing I notice,is including me and nearly all other people I've played with in the PR community (lots) want our v0.5 Al Basrah back...But in a certain way.All we want is in .7 for the WAH-64 Apache Longbow to be put back in basrah,the Challenger II put in,and for the ticket amount to be switched around British have 600 starting tickets and Insurgents 300.Insurgents are underestimated I feel,the Warrior is easy to take out,just two RPG-7 hits.LOL.And that's all the brits. have over the Insurgents really.I try getting a pal in the Merlin to use an M249 SAW as a gunner,and he either gets shot out,a truck will take us down with it's PKM,or we'll be shot down by someone with an SA-7...Sometimes we suceed at that though.All Insurgents have to do to win is take VCP and boom,ticket bleed.Weapon Caches are hard to find,so that's not always a solution to win,so brits. have to hold a VCP and search for weapons caches,while Insurgents defend caches (rarely due to they aren't hardley found) or take VCP.If in v0.7 the Challenger IIand WAH-64 Apache Longbow are put in,we'll be happy.You all remember the advantage USMC had on Insurgents in v0.5 but the insurgents almost always won...Will any British Jets be seen anytime soon?

Nah no attack helos on this map ... the map is very balanced at the moment. And on my server the brits won very often!

I wouldn't call it very balanced at the moment.

the problem with basrah at the moment is that 80% of the time all you get is not the insurgancy game mode, but you have a "King of the Hill" game mode cos 90% of the insurgants dont want to defend the ammo dumps, in the same way the brits dont want to defend the VCP, so what you get is all of the insugants over running the VCP, even if it has afew defenders its not often you have enough to hold it, and if you do it just proves its still king of the hill as the insurgants never give up cos its really the only way the insrugants can win.

Only ever so often do you find over 50% of the insrugants and brits defending/attacking the ammo dumps, which then it turns into a good mode, if you ignore whats happening at VCP :)

When we have the CR2 fully ingame we will probaly but 1 in basrah with a long respawn time, but for the apache dont think it will return to basrah to be honest.

The problem is that noone wants to play it as it should be played, and the insurgents don't have any other way of winning than capping the VCP.

Maybe less tickets for Brits?

less tickets for the brits and the only way the insurgants should be able to win IMO is from killing all the brits off, or to defend the ammo dumps until the timer runs out :)

Agreed, but a four hour timer is a bit much then. The insurgents can't kill off all the Brits - well, maybe, but it'll be very tough and I've never seen it - so they want to be kings of the hill and play Star Wars music, so they head to VCP to win.

How about removing -3 intel points, if Insurgents kill an Officer (squad leader/commander?

Insurgency usually lasts long, but when a huge massacre breaks out, British get tons of intel in no time, and since everyone now knows, that they aren't allowed to kill civilians (and no one uses civilian class on Basrah for some reason, and if they do, they go to VCP to get shot or knifed)

I'd make the tickets a little higher for both sides, and shorten the timer say to 45 minutes or an hour.

The idea would be that the British can force a victory within that time by destroying all the caches, and that the insurgents win not by killing off every Brit, but by forcing the Brits to hold off for long enough that they retain some of the dumps.

IRL, conventional forces don't throw endless forces at problems until they've lost 300 people in one town...

If insurgency seems to deteriorate into king of the hill, let it be. Maybe thats how players like it.

wouldnt the solution just be to make VCP uncappable? forcing the insurgents to have no choice other than defend their caches while lowering the brit tickets to preserve balance?

i personally would like the return of the apache, you see them all the time in iraq whether blowing things up or getting shot down, they are quite indispensible in modern conflicts

I like it when the insurgents invade VCP, this allows one British squad to search for the caches while the rest of the team is defending VCP.

most of the time i play the insurgents win about 99.9% of the time. the brits realy need an hello not the Apache but maybe the little bird gun ship. or give the commander artillery

last time i played "and on the insurgents team we won the map in less then 45 mins."
civs with C4 on there bikes are better then the bomb cars or turks. i just drive up to APC or people on ground and thay all just look at me like im crazy then all the brits come runing over to kinfe me. but then BOOM all die after 2 C4 packs go off. then after doing this 3 or for 4 times in the game all the brits shot civs on sight

How about removing the ticket bleed induced by the insurgents capping VCP and giving the brits a permenant spawn there when they have it capped. That way, the insurgents can´t win by "lets just cap the VCP and let them bleed" but if they do cap it, the brits say "we want our closer spawn back, lets retake VCP". Gives the insurgents a bit less of an incentive to cap it just to win (but it is an advantage when it is capped) and still gives the brits a reason to defend it. To make the brits want to defend it even more, maybe take an APC out of the airport, and make it spawn at VCP at its usual time span.

Conquest wont work with these insurgents, In .5 they were closer to militia with a Dedicated doctor, Mechanic, Etc, Now they are closer to real life insurgents, Hence they cant put up a fight in Conquest mode, With all the pick up kits mainly concentrated in Mosque, Palace, and Very few in Village.

They would be over run in 20 minutes because of lack to get RPG's to use against Tanks, Sniper kit being taken all the time, And civi's acting stupid and getting killed all the time.

If they were to bring back AAS it would have be in modified form and modify the kits a bit or Increase the count to 6 but that would require the other sides having them raised aswell, And what do you suggest they give them as spawnable kits?

Ticket bleed sounds fake to me..
tickets should represent forces right?? if noane is dieing in the time that vcp is capped ? and still theirs an ticket bleed,, that sounds fake to me,,

I should say no ticket bleed for GB on albasrah
