Whenever I start a chopper, I always seem to flip and blow up.

Don't rev or try to take off in the littlebird until it's through its warmup cycle or your will flip.

When taking off, lean forward a bit, then immediately take off before doing a nose dive

If the shit hits the rotor and you start tipping over, just jump out or the chopper is almost always toast. It can be righted but it takes just too long and it doesnt always stay in one piece on it's side.

For your 1st try:

Wait 32secs, positive collective and rise into air about 30m. Dip nose and off you go.

When confident:

Wait 32secs, positive collective AND dip nose, simultaneously, moving diagonally.

you can practice on the bext map ever!!

kashan desert..

first try whit the littlebird or mec chopper (spawns when the game starts)

on 15 mins the A10 / F16 / MIG 29 / and other plane spawns

whit blackhawk and some tanks and transports

try this on LAN make a scuad and request pilot.. bla bla bla

the best practice.. is take the A10.. put some vvehicles as targets and starts fire

or firing at houses

I practiced a lt on local servers with choppers, and i think i can fly them ok (not good but ok=i wont crash them right after takeoff), and I have a problem with landing the blackhawk.
Whenever it hits the ground it just starts to flip over, so i always have to take of again. This happens even if i manage to make the rear tyre hit the ground first ,while descending and moving forward or even backward or when hovering still and descending. What is the trick in landing the BH?
(I have no problems landing little birds even on uneven places for a short time, or makeing fast landings/takeoffs)

are you using joy or mouse/kb?
if you're flying with mouse and keyboard, as of 07, you just have to hit S button very often over short period of time to make the landing smoother
if you're feeling that it's going to flip over, just press S button for like 0.3s - it 'automatically' puts your heli in good position (you still have to watch your chopper position etc)

if words aren't enough, just PM me - i can set up a server to show you what's my landing like and we could think of possible solutions for your landing techniques

Yes, in 0.7 you have decellerate very gently, if not you will just loose power midair and fall down.
So keep practising landing and taking off, and then my best suggestion is to avoid landing on a non-flat ground.
When you have to transport people in a non-flat area then hover above the ground like betweem 60cm-30cm and the people will jsut jump out, and they won't take damage. If some people (and lots of them) are not getting of, spam with the "get out" command.

Thanks for the advice! I can land quite smoothly now. Still having problems with stopping the heli dead-on above a certain spot to avoid landing on not flat surface (i can do it slowly on local servers, but if i was that slow on actual online servers i would be killed in no time).
