Kit Request from Support Vehicles

Post by culliganator »

I checked the previous suggestions but didn't see it listed. I was just wondering if allowing kit requests from support vehicles is being considered? I see rally point kit requesting has yet to be fixed/implemented so maybe that falls under the same umbrella?

No, it's been talked about before. There has to be a down side to things.

I don't think it's necessary.

Rally points kit request works fine. You just can't request HAT and AA from them. Sniper will also be on that list. Also you can only request at your own squad rally point.

It can but only in certain circumstances:

Within 1 minute of the vehicle being first occupied

When the APc is within 50(?) meters of a friendly flag

That's all off the top of my head. Says in the quick guide i think.

You can afterall request Milita Officer on the back of their Supplytruck.
(Or are you meaning support jeeps?)

It's an APC to them.

I was mainly thinking about the support truck. In many cases trucks carry out the same supply and taxi roles as APCs. I just think it makes sense to allow kit requests. It just "feels" right to me.

Imho, there already are too many spots to get kits from... but that's another story.

The more I think about it the more I think this may be the correct position. Maybe "removing" kit selection from APCs is the way to go. Besides, it can be a deadly business re-kitting next to an APC...
I am not sure about removing rally point kitting but limiting kit selections as currently implemented seems fair enough.

Just seems a bit wierd to be able to kit at an APC but not at a truck.

Taking the kit request ability away from the APC is a little overdoing it. Start small, make the time between supply drops longer. So how that changes the kit availability.

I don't think a total removal of all kits from APCs but perhaps make it so you can only get the likes of support and grenadier and other very basic requestables (doesn't appear to be a real word but I don't see why it shouldn't be so I'm gonna use it anyway. Anyone know what equipment APCs actually cart round with them?

I think the devs in .7 should remove all kit requests from rally other then the Officer, Grenadier, Support, Marksmen and Soon to be limited Spec ops.

1: For a Conventional Infantry squad these kits are the most used.

2: I love being in Spec ops squads sometimes and having them spawn Behind enemy lines is really really helpful to sabotage enemy assets.

The APC spawn is going to be Removed soon, so i'm in agreement with requesting kits from the support Truck. It would make people more aware that the truck is useful, however maybye just basics and you can't requesting HAT or Sniper etc

I think requesting from a Support Truck is better than from an APC. Heavy weapons should be available too.. Except for AA, not very common in APC/Truck

...and Light AT. Expendable rocket launchers are not a rare sight in modern warfare.

I don't think that the Spec Ops should be requestable other than main base and maybe supply crates. That style of fighting hasn't got much common business with a regular squad with an officer, a medic, two riflemen, and a grenadier for instance.
As a squadleader I really don't like when players in my squad take the Special's kit. It's so nerf'd in .7 that it's practically useless for the squad. No body armour, no grenade, no ammo bag or extra field dressing, not even silenced weapon. Compared to a rifleman or engineer, they're worthless.

Ooooooh support vehicles as in the ammo/repair thing, hahah. Thought you meant all supportive vehicles like APC, Commander truck etc. Getting a couple of kit's out of them might be reasonable.
